Valdivienne Planet Trail

Park in the church car park in Saint-Martin.

(S/E) With your back to the church entrance, turn left and cross the bridge over the Vienne. At the roundabout, turn left and then immediately right. Continue to the third street on the left just after a well.

Turn left onto Route du Pain Perdu. At the three-way junction, turn left. After a 90° left turn, you will arrive at the road. Continue right until you reach the roundabout.

(2) Just before the roundabout, take the path that goes through a hedge on the left, cross the road and continue straight ahead on a small road heading south-east. Keep to the right and cross Salle-en-Toulon until you reach the stop sign.

(3) Cross the crossroads, keep going in the same direction, then take the first street on the left. Pass by the cemetery and a sports field. At the road, turn right and continue for about 100 metres.

(4) Before the bridge, turn right and cross the green space to a road and turn left. At the stop sign, continue straight ahead and then take the first road on the right. At the next crossroads, take the path opposite. Continue to the next intersection.

(5) Turn onto the path on the left. Then, at the next junction, turn right onto the path going uphill. Continue until you reach the D8.

(6) Turn left along the D8, turn off onto the second road on the right and then the first on the left. When you reach a cemetery, cross the D18 and continue straight ahead on Rue de la Cousue.

(7) At the entrance to^{the first} left-hand bend, take the small path on the right towards the church, then turn left at the three-way junction and go downhill. Turn right, then immediately left until you reach the crossroads.

(8) Cross the street, then the bridge opposite towards Civaux. Take the first street on the left towards Chanteloup and keep left. After crossing a wooded area, continue straight ahead to the houses of Chanteloup at a four-way crossroads.

(9) Go straight ahead on the wide path. Continue north-east for a long time until you reach the D114.

(10) Turn left and then immediately right. At the stop sign, turn right and then immediately left to cross the Vienne river. After the bridge, turn right. Ignore Rue des Entrepreneurs and enter the cul-de-sac until you reach No. 6.

(11) Take a small road on the left. At the last houses, continue straight ahead. At the next junction, turn 90° right to join a tarmac road and continue on this road until the next junction (D749) just outside Cubord.

(12) Turn right, then take the first road on the left and follow it to the next junction.

(13) Leave the road on your left, and in the right-hand bend, leave the road and continue straight ahead on a farm track. Cross a stream, which may be dry depending on the season. Take the first path on the right, which immediately crosses the stream again, then a third time further on. Continue straight ahead along the bank, passing through a gate and making sure to close it behind you. Continue to a road at a place called Les Plaudes.

(14) Turn right, then at the next intersection, with a large cross on your right, turn left heading due north. Pass the place called La Fredotterie and arrive at a crossroads a few hundred metres further on.

(15) Turn left. At the right-hand bend in the hamlet of Les Thibauderies, continue straight ahead on the path and follow it for a long time until you reach a T-junction with a road.

(16) Turn left, ignore the Chemin de Villiers, then after a cluster of trees, turn onto the path on the left which then turns right and joins the second path on the left.

(17) Take this path and turn right at the first path. Then take the first right again. At the next intersection, turn left and then immediately right to reach a road.

(18) Turn left, then take the first road on the right. Continue along the path that follows and turn right further on. At the next crossroads, turn left. At the next one, continue straight ahead to reach La Roussalière.

(19) At the intersection, turn left and then immediately right towards the hill. Take the first left, Rue du Chilloux. At the top, take the path on the right. Continue until you reach a three-way junction.

(20) Keep left and continue to a small road, follow it to the left until you reach the D749.

(21) Turn right for a few metres, then cross the road (take care) and take the path on the left of a cross, which continues along the Vienne to the church car park (S/E).
