Park behind the church at La Chapelle Morthemer or in front of the cemetery.
(S/E) Take the road that descends alongside the cemetery and head towards Morthemer. Continue left onto Rue de Bourpeuil, which descends with a view of the castle overlooking the village. At the next junction, turn left onto Rue de la Chalette. Follow this road uphill to reach the car park at Morthemer Castle.
(1) Turn right and follow the sign for the church. Head down a small path skirting the castle to reach the back of the church, then continue down the path on the left. Turn right into the alley, pass under the archway and cross Rue de la Dame Blanche. Head towards the bridge over the Dive
(2) Cross it, then turn immediately left and continue along this road, which is Rue Baron de Soubeyran. Reach the hamlet of Chanteloube.
(3) Leave the road and continue straight ahead along the path,
(4) At a pretty little stone bridge, climb up a rustic staircase made of wooden logs and turn left onto the small bridge, then turn right onto the small road, leaving the cross behind you, and immediately turn left onto the path.
(5) When you reach the road, turn left, passing between the houses, cross the Dive and, after a right-hand bend, take the road on the left, cross a road and continue along the path opposite
(6) You will find a grassy path on your left; do not go up towards the woods. At the end of the grassy path, you will come to a wide track leading to the hamlet of Salles, which has a cemetery; turn 90° to the right. Continue uphill, following the edge of the woods and passing a large pylon. Then cross the D8 road with care and continue straight ahead to reach the houses of Charrault Bourgeois.
(7) Before the houses, turn left onto the path (note: the path shown on the map no longer exists; it has been ploughed up). Go round the field on the right, following the grassy path running alongside the small wood, and continue down the path towards the D8.
(8) Turn right and follow it for about a hundred metres, then take the path on the right. You will reach a road at the Bois des Tombes crossroads.
(9) Cross this road and take the D18 opposite. At the bottom of the descent, in the bend, take the sunken path that climbs to the left (note: the entrance to the path may be blocked by vegetation; do not hesitate to move the branches aside) to easily return to the car park at Chapelle Morthemer church, less than 200 m away (S/E).
