This hike starts from the car park near Lac d'Ilay.
(S) Opposite the house, cross the D75 and continue straight ahead to La Fromagerie. At the houses, turn left onto theGR®559Atrail.
(1) Cross the D39 and follow the path down to the Cascades du Hérisson. When you reach the first waterfall, the Saut Girard, cross the Hérisson.
(2) Turn right and follow the Hérisson along the left bank.
(3) until you reach the Sarrazine footbridge. This path is very pleasant and well maintained, although a little steep in places.
(4) When you reach the Sarrazine footbridge, turn left towards Bonlieu (yellow signposts). The path that climbs up is quite narrow with a steep drop on your right, so be careful. Leave the path on your right that leads to the Dame Blanche viewpoint and head straight towards Bonlieu.
(5) When you reach Bonlieu, cross the D678 to join a road opposite the church that descends next to the fountain. Turn left at the fork and cross the bridge over the stream.
(6) Turn left onto Rue de la Sirène towards the abbey. Turn right at the first fork, then left at the next one and continue to Route du Lac (elevation 807).
(7) Then turn right towards the campsite and follow the D75E1 (route du Lac).
(8) Cross the Hérisson bridge and continue straight ahead to the abbey and the oratory a little further on.
(9) When you reach the oratory, turn right onto the path that runs alongside the lake until you reach a crossroads of white paths.
(10) Turn right to return towards the bridge over the Hérisson that you crossed earlier.
(8) Continue straight ahead towards the waterfalls. This forest path will take you to the D678.
(11) Follow the road for a few metres on your left, then turn right onto the D75 towards Ilay until you reach a car park on your left.
(12) Turn left onto a path that descends to Saut Girard.
(2) Turn right and return by the same route as on the way there towards the cheese dairy and then Lac d'Ilay (S/E).
