Description of the walk

Access from Toulouse: follow the D117 to the town of Mane. Take the D13 towards Arbas.
At the entrance to Arbas, take Rue de Planque, not shown on Maps, towards Ferme d'Oulan Bat. Continue on the road, which then becomes a path, until you reach a small clearing where you can park.

(S/E) Take the yellow-marked path on the left bank of the Ruisseau de la Goute de Pet d'Ase. Continue to reach the Ravin de Goute de Goutoly.

(1) Follow the markings and signs to the Planque waterfall.

(2) Retrace your steps to return to the car park in the clearing (S/E).

Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 484 m - Car park in the clearing
  2. 1 : km 0.93 - alt. 609 m - Goute de Goutoly Ravine
  3. 2 : km 1.57 - alt. 773 m - Planque Waterfall
  4. S/E : km 3.14 - alt. 484 m - Car park in the clearing

Notes

Refreshment point near the clearing.
Before (2), in summer, you can walk up the bed of a secondary river located on the right side of the path. Completely dry in summer, you can walk up to the top of the bed (about 50 metres). The top of the river has two levels. Not recommended for children. The path is slippery in the last few metres.
(2) Viewpoint of the waterfall. Take the path in the opposite direction.

Worth a visit

(2) Observe the cliff on the opposite mountain.

Hello,

A short, pleasant hike to warm up. The waterfall has a fairly steep drop, but the hiking trail ends before the waterfall, so it is inaccessible.
We didn't return the same way, as recommended by the GPS track, but took a path downhill to the right of the stream. It was very varied and very pretty. This involved crossing the stream a few times, which was possible as the water level wasn't very high at the end of July.

A lovely route mainly through forest, with beautiful mosses and vegetation, BUT it can be very slippery and you have to cross the river several times – taking off your shoes depending on what you are wearing. Not suitable for young children, but once they are more agile, they will love the adventure! Allow about 2 hours.
No mobile phone reception along the route.

A beautiful and very pleasant hike. Lush vegetation. The waterfall had almost no water, but the site is still worth seeing. I would recommend walking sticks, as the trail can be slippery in places due to runoff and fords. Old charcoal kilns can be seen on the right bank a few hundred metres from the waterfall.

This waterfall is particularly interesting in winter, but be careful during the snowmelt, as the trail can resemble a small stream.
Furthermore, during high water levels, it is best to return via the same path as there is no ford at the start of the hike.

An ideal hike or walk in summer, when the weather is very hot. It takes place in the undergrowth, sheltered from the sun's rays. On the way back, at a fork in the path, we turned right instead of taking the rather steep path we had taken on the way there. The path then runs alongside the stream, crossing it several times, and it is better to wade through it than to use the stones that have been laid out, as they are too wet and pose a risk of slipping. This route is suitable for young children (we had two aged 5 and 8) and also offers beautiful forest landscapes, not to mention the very impressive waterfall.
