Start: Braithwaite village, B5292, (CA12 5TJ), Free to park on the side of the B5292 road Grid ref. NY 232 236
(S/E) Start walking toward the center of the village staying on the B5292 (West) and continue on this main road to exit it and going up Whinlatter Pass. Before the big bend at the start of Whinlatter Pass, turn right on the small footpath. Continue on this path (leaving the two paths on the right) until reaching an intersection of paths a the level of Hallgarth beck.
(1) Continue straight on the path (North) towards Ladstock and Thornthwaite. Stay on this path until reaching a road. At the road, turn left and walk until the end of the road then take the path that follows Comb beck. Continue on this path straight up until reaching Comb beck trail.
(2) Turn left. Continue straight on Comb beck trail, then left at the intersection with several paths and then continue walking on Comb beck trail until the visitor center.
(3) Walk across the visitor center and towards the Whinlatter Pass to exit the car park. Before exiting take right on the small footpath that follows Whinlatter pass. After a couple of meters turn left to cross Whinlatter Pass and take the opposite footpath.
(4) Walk straight. At the first intersection turn left, and continue straight. At the bend take left and continue straight until another bend. Take right and continue straight (passing a car park). At the next bend take left and then left again (second left). Keep on this large path until seeing an intersection of paths.
(5) Take left then right and continue on this road until seeing a small footpath on your left hand side (after Masmill Beck). Leave the road and turn left on that footpath. Keep on this path until reaching a road.
(6) Turn left then after the bend turn right to take the footpath. Continue on this path until reaching the junction again.
(1) Then take the middle path in front to walk back to the Braithwaite village and car park (S/E)
