Start from the Télécâble 1 station, accessible from the terminus of metro line 8: Créteil Pointe du Lac.
Green markings
(S/E) On getting off the cable car, cross the road at the roundabout and take the Végétale cycle path on the left towards the old Mandres-les-Roses station, until you reach a three-way junction at the corner of a field and the forest.
(1) Leave the cycle path and keep left, then continue straight on until you reach the castle wall.
(2) Turn left, follow the wall and head for the next fork.
(3) Turn left, then right, facing the railway line. Go under the road bridge, then turn right and follow the road to the roundabout.
No signposting
(4) As you pass, admire the Château du Maréchal de Saxe. Cross the road carefully, then take the path on the left, just after the roundabout. Pass a four-way junction, and you’ll soon find a path on the right.
(5) Take this path, cross a track, then a road, and continue to the Étoile de Bellevue.
Red and yellow markings
(6) Admire the view of Grosbois Castle, go round Place de la Belle Vue on the left and head down Allée Royale. Cross the road, Allée des Tilleuls, and join the cycle path.
Green markings
(7) Continue to the right and follow the Végétale as it crosses Villecresnes.
(8) Cross the bridge over the Réveillon and arrive at a junction where there is a picnic table and benches.
Red and Yellow Markings
(9) Turn right onto the path leading down to the Réveillon. Cross the river and turn left at the edge of the woods.
(10) Cross the road. There are several picnic tables here. Walk alongside the Villecresnes pond and follow the GRP® de la Ceinture Verte. At Rue de Brunoy, first turn right then left, crossing the bridge, and continue along the Réveillon. Pass under a power line and reach a four-way junction.
(11) Turn onto the path leading uphill to the right, then left at the top of the climb, and you will reach a cross-country path.
Yellow markings
(12) Turn left and head downhill. Pass under the power line and arrive at a three-way junction.
(13) Keep to the right, rejoin the stream, follow it for about 1 km, and arrive at a fork.
(14) Take the path going uphill on the right. This joins the stream; follow it to the left, then cross the footbridge and reach the tarmac. Turn right.
(15) Here, at the end of Rue des Abbesses, turn left, then left again onto Rue Raymond Poincaré. Walk past the old abbey and enter Parc des Deux-Rivières at the corner of No. 35 (Prothèse Générale), where the Réveillon flows into the Yerres.
(16) Cross the bridge over the Yerres, and immediately afterwards, turn right onto Chemin des Poètes. Take the footbridge and cross Île Panchout, following the Yerres, until you reach the footbridge.
(17) Take this footbridge, then turn left and go up onto the road bridge. Turn left onto the bridge and head for the entrance to Parc Caillebotte on the right.
(18) Go through the gate and enter the park. Walk the length of the park, following the River Yerres, and exit at the Soweto Bridge. Toilets and a drinking fountain are available in the playground.
No signposting
(19) Cross the bridge, then continue straight ahead onto Rue de la Lethumière. Walk uphill until you reach a wall.
(20) Turn left, then right onto Rue du Picure. Continue the climb via the steps on Sentier des Sources. At the top, continue to the right, skirting a secondary school, and arrive at a junction on the corner.
(21) Head straight ahead and enter the Forêt Domaniale de la Grange via Allée du Général Lejeune. Follow it in a straight line until you reach a large star-shaped junction.
Red and yellow markings
(22) Turn right, then take the next path, which climbs to the right, followed by a flight of steps, to reach the summit of Mont-Griffon.
(23) Enjoy the view over the Essonne department. Continue by taking the opposite flight of steps, rejoin the path you left earlier, and continue to the right until the next fork.
(24) Turn left and continue to Allée du Général Lejeune, which you left earlier.
(25) Turn right and follow it until you reach the castle moat. Turn left, walk along the moat, then continue straight on until you reach the edge of the forest.
(26) Turn right and rejoin the cycle path you were already on.
Green markings
(1) Continue to the left and, following the route back in the opposite direction, head for Cable Car 1 (S/E).
