The route starts at the “Stade de Bonneuil” bus stop on Avenue Jean Rostand.
(S) Head towards Provins along the bus lane, then turn right at the next junction, Mail de Résistance. 200 metres further on, at number 21 on the street, opposite the Place des Libertés, on your right, a mural depicting the portrait of a Black ‘Woman’ can be seen on an electricity box. The graffiti artist Sitoua created this work as part of the ‘Quinzaine de la mémoire et de la citoyenneté’ (Fortnight of Remembrance and Citizenship), to mark the anniversary of 27 April 1848, when the abolition of slavery in France was decreed.
(1) Retrace your steps back to the traffic-light junction and continue straight on along Rue Jean Moulin for 300 metres. At the roundabout, turn right onto Avenue de Verdun and continue to number 7. On your left, the two electricity boxes are decorated with portraits of a nurse and a First World War soldier. Entitled ‘La Paix’, the artwork was created by Jean-Baptiste Clin, alias JBC, with the help of around ten children from the Léo-Lagrange association, as part of Peace Week and the celebrations marking the 1918 Armistice that brought the First World War to an end.
(2) Continue along Avenue de Verdun; before reaching the Bernard Ywanne Media Centre, turn right onto Rue de la Commune. Near the small park, at the rear of the media library, take a moment to admire the artwork ‘Fenêtre du jardin’ by Loraine Motti. As part of the 2021 edition of the Phénomèn’art festival, the artist drew inspiration from her travels in South America and her connection with the environment to explore humanity’s relationship with nature.
(3) Retrace your steps and turn right onto Avenue de Verdun. A few steps away is the Jean-Pierre Jouffroy Art Centre, which hosts various art exhibitions during opening hours. At the junction with Avenue de Boissy, continue straight on along Avenue du Colonel Fabien, towards the town centre. On the corner of the street, two electrical cabinets, decorated in 2019 by Barny Artet of the Art’Murs association, feature illustrations of various birds representing ‘Nature’, the theme chosen by local residents.
(4) Continue along Avenue du Colonel Fabien for 200 metres. At the chemist’s, turn right onto Rue du Dr Aline Pages, then immediately right onto Allée Juliot Curie. After the red barrier, 100 metres on, opposite the Juliot Curie nursery school, a plant room was repainted in 2018. The artwork ‘Enfance’ was created by Artis94, a graffiti artist from Val-de-Marne, and young people from Bonneuil who attend the Espace Nelson Mandela.
Retrace your steps and, at the chemist’s, turn right onto Avenue du Colonel Fabien. At the next traffic-light junction, 150 metres on, turn left towards Créteil. On the right-hand pavement of Avenue Auguste Gross, admire this mural, which is 60 metres long and 2.80 metres high. Entitled ‘La Commune de Paris’, it was created by the graffiti artists of the ‘douze douze’ collective – comprising Claire Courdavault, JBC, Juan Chac and Léonce – as well as by the Art’Murs association, alongside children from the leisure centre.
(5) Continue along the avenue and, at the next junction, carry on along Avenue Auguste Gross. After the town hall’s ancillary services, near No. 10, an electrical cabinet depicts “The Portrait of Louise Michel”.
