In the village of Orcines, park in the car park opposite the community centre on Rue de la Liberté.
Yellow disc markings
(S/E) Set off with the community centre on your left and turn left at the crossroads. Just before the Carrefour Market, turn right onto a path (Chemin du Chancet). Shortly afterwards, take care to keep left onto a path through the woods (the path continues straight ahead). When you reach a street, follow it to the left and, at the next intersection, keep left again. At the stop sign, continue left and you will reach the D941.
(1) Cross it carefully at the pedestrian crossing and continue along the street opposite. Before reaching a street, turn onto a path on the right. When you reach a track, follow it to the right and then pass to the right of a water catchment. Ignore a path on the left and continue along the street for barely 100 m, then take the path on the left and look carefully for a discreet path about 100 m further on that descends to the right.
No markings
(2) Follow it, leaving the yellow disc markings. When you reach a road, cross it and continue on the path opposite, slightly to the left. You will come to a T-junction with a path.
Blue markings in the opposite direction (only useful for directions marked with a cross)
(3) Turn right. At a fork in the path, keep left and then keep left at the next two forks, which are very close together (the paths that branch off to the right are now blocked by private property). Then ignore two paths on the left and arrive at a T-junction.
No markings
(4) For a round trip to the Croix des Combes, turn right, ignore a path on the right shortly afterwards, then another a little further on, and arrive at an intersection at the Croix des Combes.
(5) Retrace your steps.
Blue markings in the opposite direction
(4) Continue straight ahead. Shortly afterwards, ignore a path on the right (shortcut) and follow the path that turns right, ignoring the path on the left, then ignore the shortcut coming from the right.
Yellow disc markings
At the intersection with a path, follow it to the right and find a yellow disc marker. Further on, ignore a path to the left in a hairpin bend and arrive at a road in Durtol, at the Chemin des Chassagnes marker. Follow the road to the left. For safety reasons, it is best to cross to the right-hand side before the bend. You will soon arrive at the car park at Durtol station.
(6) Turn right to cross it and pass the Gare de Durtol sign. Continue straight ahead towards the paths marked "propriété privée" (private property) and follow the path that climbs to the right of these paths. Further on, ignore a path on the left that turns sharply, then another on the right. Walk alongside the farm buildings and you will arrive at a road at the entrance to Sarcenat.
(7) Cross it, then follow it to the right and immediately take the Route d'Orcines on the left. You will arrive at an intersection in the centre of the hamlet, with a lime tree, a wash house fountain and the Sarcenat signpost.
No signposts
Leave the yellow disc signposting and turn left onto Rue Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, then ignore all the streets on the right. Note a carved cross on the right.
(8) At the exit of the hamlet, pass a large property on your left (Château de Teilhard de Chardin, but not visible) and notice a sign on your right indicating the Fontaine du Merle (dated 1808), accessible a few metres away. Continue along the street, which immediately turns into a path. At the fork in the road, keep right and you will come to an intersection with directional signs and a hut called "Le clin d'œil de Marcel".

(9) Continue straight ahead towards Orcines and shortly afterwards you will find a yellow disc marker.
No markings
At the next intersection, leave the wide path and the markings and follow a path branching off to the left. At the first intersection, take a sharp right turn. You will come out on the path you left earlier at a tall stone cross.

Turn left, back onto the yellow disc markings, and you will immediately arrive on Rue de Bonnabry.
(10) Continue straight on Rue des Écureuils, then at the next intersection, continue straight on Rue des Genêts, which immediately turns left and joins a street. Follow this street to the left until you reach a crossroads with a fountain and wash house. Continue straight ahead, slightly to the right, on Allée des Sorbiers. At the end, turn right and, facing the gate of a property, continue along the path that runs alongside it. About 150 m further on, look out for a less marked path that branches off to the right.
Without markings
(11) Leave the yellow disc markings to follow this path. At the next intersection, follow the path on the right and then, immediately after, turn left opposite a low wall. At the edge of the woods, continue straight ahead into the hamlet of Le Gressigny, then straight ahead again on the street. At the end, turn left to arrive at Place de la Fontaine, where you will find a beautiful double wash house fountain.
(12) Leave the square on your left, immediately turn left onto Rue du Pavé and follow it as it turns left. Cross the road and continue straight ahead. You will arrive at the D90. Cross carefully and follow it to the left for about 20 metres, then turn right onto Rue des Cheyres. At the Hôtel des Hirondelles car park, take the path on the left. You will come to a street; follow it to the right until you reach the crossroads with traffic lights. Cross and continue straight ahead on Route des Puys to return to the car park on Rue de la Liberté (S/E).
