The starting point is on the D69, between Aullène and Zicavo, at the foot of the Col de la Vaccia, at the Chiuvone River bridge. Parking is available on the left-hand side of the D69 after the Chiuvone bridge when coming from Aullène.
(S/E) Take the D69, crossing the bridge towards Aullène (south), then follow the road for 100 metres until you reach the entrance to a track going up on the left.
(1) Leave the D69 on the left, following the path up towards the sheepfolds (signpost: Avvinta di Ghjavingnolu - circular). Follow the track as it winds its way up through the low scrub, passing the Bergeries de Niellu sheepfolds (yellow markings).
(2) At the last sheepfold on the left, take the bend to the right and continue on the single path, heading south, until you reach a T-junction to join the path that leads to the rocking rock (there is a signpost for the rocking rock).
(3) Continue left on the path leading to the rocking rock until you reach the next signpost (yellow markings).
(4) At the signpost at the entrance to a Y-junction, leave the discreet trail leading to the Rocking Rock on your right, unless you want to go there. Go straight ahead, follow the directional sign (Avvinta di Ghjavingnolu - circular) and continue climbing (yellow markings) on the only trail that overlooks the Anellu stream on the right.
(5) The route then crosses a pretty little plateau of pozzines. Continue following the yellow markings to the next signpost a short distance away.
(6) At the signpost, continue straight ahead following the sign for Avvinta di Ghjavingnolu - circular and follow the path north-east (yellow markings) to a T-junction (signpost).
(7) Follow the sign and continue straight ahead in the direction of Avvinta di Ghjavingnolu - circular, towards the pozzines. Ignore the small path that branches off to the right, slightly downhill towards the plateau. Follow the yellow markings, which quickly lead to another Y-shaped intersection of tracks.
(8) Ignore the track climbing left towards Punta di Giavingiolu and follow the path descending slightly to the right. Continue through the pozzines, following the yellow-marked path to the next signpost. There, continue to the left (towards Avvinta di Ghjavingnolu) and follow the yellow markings through the pozzines.
(9) Follow the path to the left, leaving the trail to the right that leads to the Coscione plateau (signpost for Avvinta di Ghjavingnolu - circular). Then follow the path that winds along both sides of the Giavingiolu stream, which you will have to cross several times (yellow markings).
(10) After the first ford, there will be seven more along this stream as the path winds its way along both sides of the stream until it reaches a crossroads.
(11) Turn completely left, following the direction indicated on the signpost for Avvinta di Ghjavingnolu - circular, and follow the trail that runs alongside a stream to the next ford (yellow markings).
(12) Cross the stream via the ford, then continue following the trail (yellow markings) overlooking the beautiful Chiuvone gorge on the left of the path. The descent is quite steep.
(13) During the descent, there is a final ford. Continue down the single path, following the yellow markings to the sheepfolds at the Chiuvone bridge. Return to the car park on the edge of the D69 (S/E).
