The Toises Circular Loop

Park in the car park near the Étang des Plançons.

(S/E) From the car park, head to the pond and walk round it on the right-hand side until you reach its eastern end.

(1) Carry on straight ahead along the path leading into the forest until you reach a fork.

(2) Keep to the right onto the main path, which is sandy, and begin walking round the large field where the pumping stations are located.

(3) At the junction of the four paths (one of which is closed to the public), carry on straight ahead along the main path until you reach a crossroads not far from the River Allier. 

(4) Turn left, pass under the power lines and carry on along the same track which circles the pumping stations. You’ll reach the footbridge crossing the River Allier, but do not cross it.

(5) Carry on along the path that branches off to the left until you reach the next junction.

(6) Carry on along the left-hand path and continue until you return to the pond at the starting point (S/E).
