Departure from the picnic area at the entrance to Assignan coming from Saint-Chinian. Blue and yellow markings.
(S/E) Take the only path heading north-east, more or less parallel to the road. At the crossroads, turn right towards the road at a place called La Croix de le Femme Morte.
(1) Do not go as far as the road, but take the path opposite your arrival point. Walk alongside the vineyards, then turn left away from them. You will reach a large crossroads with four paths.
(2) Take the wide path opposite, then immediately turn left onto a narrower path. Walk along a vineyard on your right, turn right at the end and you will reach another crossroads.
(3) Continue to the right and, after about 150 metres, at the corner of a small group of trees, turn left at a 90° angle. Walk along several vineyards on your right and, at the end of the last one, turn right and make your way through the heath to reach the ruined chapel at the top of the hill.
(4) From the top, there is a wonderful view. Inside the chapel, you will notice a boundary stone. These ruins are the remains of a Visigothic chapel, with a square chevet measuring 14m by 6m and a door to the south. Retrace your steps.
(3) Turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach a large crossroads at the corner of a vineyard on your left.
(5) Turn right onto a wide downhill path that will take you to the hamlet of Tudery to see a strange stone with a hole in it. Don't look for it on the mountain, but on the ground, buried in the heath. When you see a water hole with water lilies on your left, you have passed it. This water hole is just after the bend.
(6) Walk back up about fifty metres and on your left, searching through the vegetation, you will see a roof. It is underneath. You will then see a small path that is no longer maintained, take it. The origin of this stone is unknown, some geologists believe it comes from the Chapelle Saint-Pierre.
Return to the path you came on and turn left.
(5) Continue straight ahead on the marked path called "Les Barralets". This path, which generally heads west, slopes to the left (south) before joining the D178.
(7) Do not take the road, but turn left immediately onto a path that runs alongside the vineyards.
(8) After about 600 metres, turn right, pass between two vineyards and continue straight ahead through heath to return to the car park and picnic area (S/E).
