Small car park near the church in the village of Xocourt on the D155L.
(S/E) Walk down Rue Principale. This continues as Route de Xocourt, which you follow for about 2 km. All along the way, enjoy superb panoramic views towards the villages of Tincry and Delme. You’ll reach the junction with a path – with a bench on your left – at the first houses of a housing estate.
(1) Continue to the right. After passing through the housing estate, and a few metres past the sign marking the entrance to Delme, you’ll reach a junction of streets and paths in front of a small square.
(2) Carry on straight ahead towards the large junction with Rue Raymond Poincaré. Just before the junction, on the left, in a lane off Square Victor Lemoine, take a look at an unusual fountain (called ‘Pendula’) by the artist Didier Marcel. There is also a superb picnic area here. Then return to the previous crossroads.
(2) With your back to the fountain, head diagonally left along the signposted path, which is the old Roman road. At the end of the path, you’ll come out at a right angle to a road.
(3) Ignore the sign for the nature reserve opposite and turn right onto the coastal road. After a few hundred metres, before the road passes between two rows of trees, a path branches off to the left.
(4) Take the path on your left. At the end of this path, on your right, walk a few dozen metres along the hedge, keeping it on your left.
(5) You’ll reach the entrance to the tunnel. Enter the tunnel through a large opening and follow it for about 1.2 km until you emerge in front of the Chèvrerie.
(6) Turn right onto the tarmac road to Xocourt. Enter the village. A few dozen metres before the junction with the Rue Principale, take a small path on your right which joins a street, then walk past the church and return to your starting point (S/E).
