Initially wooded, it opens up to panoramic views of Clefaye and, in the distance, the Signal de Botrange, as well as the Fagne des Deux Séries further to the right, the edge of the woods above the Petit Bonheur stream valley and the wooded fringe of the beginning of the Helle (Hill) valley below.
But let's get back to the route itself: discover in turn the site of Kreuz im Venn and its cave, the Pannensterzkopf (Bovel - the highest point of this part of the Herzogenwald), the magnificent Schwarzbach valley and its pond, the German enclave of the hamlet of Ruitzhof and a wild section of the River Rur bordering the Reichenstein Convent.

This cross-border walk on the border between the Hautes Fagnes and Germany between Montjoie (Monschau) and Sourbrodt (Waimes) starts on the RAVeL (Belgian enclave of the Vennbahn) at the former Reichenstein stop near the Reichenstein Convent (Kloster) on the road between Mützenich and Kalterherberg.

If the car park at the starting point is full, you can park your vehicle either in the driveway leading to the convent or in the car park 500 m further along the L106 (towards Kalterherberg).
