Circular walk starting from the Col du Bonhomme

Park in one of the two car parks opposite and next to the Auberge du Col du Bonhomme.

(S/E) Set off along the path, signposted ‘Green Ring’, to the right of the ‘No Entry’ sign. Walk down to a small flight of steps, then turn right to join the D415 road.

(1) Cross the road carefully and continue straight ahead. Carry on downhill along a wide track, following the ‘Green Ring’ markings at all times. Follow the undulating path until you reach a crossroads of paths at a hairpin bend.

(2) Leave the track, turn left and reach a road at the Étang du Vallon junction.

(3) Turn left and follow the road to the dam in front of the pond, then cross it. Keep following the Green Ring markings to reach the junction at the Ferme de la Violette.

(4) You can turn right here to reach the farm.

(5) Return to the previous junction.

(4) Turn right onto the path marked ‘Green Ring’ and follow it at the next few junctions to reach the junction at the Village Vacances des Jonquilles.

(6) Keep left and, heading downhill, reach the D415.

(7) Cross it carefully and head back up through the forest and then across the mountain pasture to reach a multi-way junction, marked by a cross.

(8) Turn left, follow the signs for the Col du Bonhomme – marked by a combination of three Green Rings, Yellow Rings and Red Rings – and reach the Sainte-Claire Chapel.

(9) Continue uphill, passing the Général Bataille Forest House, and shortly afterwards you’ll reach the Col du Bonhomme car park (S/E).

(S/E) Refreshments are available at the car park, with an inn and a roadside restaurant.
Between (2) and (3), take care as the path is muddy in bad weather.
(5) La Violette Farm: Munster cheese available for purchase.
