Departure from Bièvres station (RER line C, on the section between Massy and Versailles-Chantiers).
No signposts
(S/E) On leaving the station and its car park, take the street on the left until you reach a roundabout (level crossing on the left). Turn right and then immediately left into Rue des Prés. Take the first right, Rue des Ponts, and continue until you reach Rue de la Terrasse.
Then turn right and left to climb the steps at the foot of the town hall (Château Silvy). Go around the building on the left and turn right towards the war memorial. Then go to the roundabout at the exit of the car park and follow Rue Léon Mignotte on the left (preferably on the right-hand pavement).
Red and white signposts
(1) Between numbers 12 and 14 (restaurant), turn right under a porch. Climb Chemin du Cimetière, a steeply sloping lane. Pass the cemetery on your right. Then turn left onto Rue Odilon Redon. After the sign for "Escalier du Pinson" on the right, you will come to the bottom of a staircase on the left. Climb this staircase and you will come out onto a forest path in the Bois de Bel-Air.
(2) Take the forest path on the right (Chemin de Cholette,GR®11G) and, after a left turn, follow a low wall on your right and join a gravel track on the other side of the wall. Continue for a few dozen metres in the same direction and, at a crossroads, turn right onto a path in the undergrowth. After winding its way, the path turns sharply to the right and descends along a fence on your left to come out onto Rue de Paris, near some buildings.
(3) Turn left and walk for about 500 metres on the pavement of Rue de Paris. At a crossroads, turn right under the N118 bridge. Take the Chemin de la Porte Jaune, pass a pond and reach the bottom of the Forêt de Verrières. Follow the cement track on the left, which winds its way up to the junction of forest tracks. Head south-east along Chemin de Verrières, cross Route Brigitte and continue to Carrefour des Noisettes.
Yellow markings
(4) At the crossroads, leave theGR®11Gtrail on your right and turn left (east-southeast) onto Chemin de la Genetrière. Cross a road and turn slightly right (southeast) onto Route Verte. At the second crossroads (Carrefour du Marquis), turn left onto Route de la Châtaigneraie.
(5) Go around the Mare à Chalot and, after about 400 metres, turn left onto the Route de Saint-Martin. About 300 metres further on, you will see a mound with an orientation table on your right.
(6) Leave the yellow markings for a moment and climb up to the right to the orientation table. The view is clearer in winter, as the surrounding trees have no leaves. Go past the orientation table and immediately take a small path that can be seen in the grass. The path then descends a short steep slope and joins the main path, which you take on the right and where you will find the yellow markings again. You will come to a crossroads.
Red and white markings
(7) Then turn sharply right into the woods (the path furthest to the right). Join theGR®11G, which is also theGR®655, and continue south-southwest. Cross a small bridge over a pond and take a fairly steep path uphill. Continue southwest, then west, turning left at each intersection, and pass a small picnic area and a car park.
(8) Cross a road and continue south-west. At the T-junction, turn left (south).
No signposts
At the junction of forest plots nos. 143-144-156-157-158, leave theGR® and take a small path opposite (south-west).
Red and white signposts
(9) At the next crossroads, rejoin theGR® and turn right at a right angle. Turn left and then left again. Take a right-hand bend until you reach the junction of forest plots nos. 152-153-154-160-159.
Yellow markings
(10) At this junction, leave theGR® trails and take a steep path on the left that descends to a road. Cross the road. After a few metres, cross the small bridge over the Bièvre.
Yellow + red and white markings
(11) After the bridge, turn right immediately to go back up the Bièvre, which is on your right. After about 250m, cross a secondary arm of the Bièvre on a wooden bridge and continue along the river (ignore the turn-off to the left towards Igny station). Then cross the Bièvre, follow the river on your left and you will come to a small road in Igny.
(12) Cross the road, turning left and then immediately right to return to the banks of the Bièvre, which will be on your right again. Pass a footbridge and a river regulation system on your right and continue along the main path. Pass a forest gate and turn left onto Route de Verrières. Turn right immediately and pass under the N118 bridge.
(13) Just after the bridge, turn right onto the path that starts behind a forest barrier. After a few metres uphill, at the first crossroads, turn left between two fences. Cross the Bièvre and follow it on your left. At a crossroads (bridge and buildings on the left), continue straight ahead towards "Gare - Vauboyen". After a few metres, cross the Bièvre river and follow it on your right. After a left-hand bend and a right-hand bend, you will see a signpost.
No signposts
Leave the marked trail and the river and go through a metal gate on the left (towards "Gare"). Follow a small cement path between two buildings and you will come out on Rue de la Gare. You will find the station on the other side of the street, slightly to the left (S/E).
