(S) From the refuge, join theGRP®® du Tour de la Font Sancte at the crossroads on the edge of the Rif Bel.
(1) Take the correct path that runs along the right bank of the torrent.
At an altitude of 2,100 metres, join a path that branches off to the left. This is the path that leads to the summit of Font Sancte.
(2) Keep right on theGRP®® and begin a long climb up the Selette valley, reaching the Col des Houerts via a series of tight hairpin bends.
(3) Take the right-hand path that leads to the Pointe d'Escreins.
(4) Return to the pass.
(3) Start the long descent on the left into the Vallon des Houerts.
Pass close to the Lac Vert and Lac Bleu lakes and take a detour here for a break, for example.
(5) Continue the descent, walk alongside the Cabane des Houerts and head south to reach the forest and then the road along the Ubaye.
(6) Here, there are two options, according to a message from a hiker:
- turn right and follow the yellow and red GRP® trail, follow the right bank of the Ubaye to rejoin the road just before the village of La Barge,
- turn left onto the road, which is the route shown on the map, taking care of the heavy traffic in summer, and join the crossroads just before the village of La Barge.
(7) Continue along the road, remaining vigilant, to reach the village of Maljasset (E), which is today's destination.
