A stroll along the calm waters at Artaix

Car parking is available at Artaix church

(S/E) From the church, head towards the town hall, go past it and pass under the canal bridge to reach the Pascal.

(1) Continue and cross the D122.

(2) Head straight ahead to reach the “Les Ramiers” point.

(3) Follow the Loire and continue straight on along the track, then at the end continue straight ahead on the road. Turn left, follow the D122 and reach Les Brenons.

(4) Take the path leading off to the left. At the next junction, turn right, then, at the crossroads, turn left. You will reach a track.

(5) Turn right. At Les Bagneaux, turn right then left. At Les Corattes, cross the bridge over the canal.

(6) Turn right, then take the path on the left. Cross the D122 towards the hamlet of Les Poteaux. At the next junction, turn right. Take the path on the right, walk past the old mill, cross the stream and go under the canal bridge.

(7) After the bridge, take the path on the left and climb the embankment (very steep path) to reach the towpath. Follow the towpath for 2.5 km towards the village and reach the church (S/E) by crossing the bridge over the canal
