Description of the walk

Park near the water tower (easy parking).

(S/E) Head north-east on the D10. After about 250 m, turn left onto the small road that leads to the village of Mirial.

(1) In the middle of the village, turn right. The tarmac quickly gives way to a path leading north. When it levels out, turn right onto the path. When you reach the tarmac again, ignore the paths on the left and continue to the village of La Fage.

(2) At the end of the village, turn left onto the small road that leads to the Rouge farm. Along the way, enjoy superb views of the Cantal, Cézallier and Sancy mountains.

(3) At the Rouge farm (beware of animals, especially dogs on leads; be careful and keep a low profile), take the path slightly to the left and continue south.

(4) At elevation 946, turn right, then right again to cross the Daü stream and climb up to the village of La Vialle Vieille.

(5) Cross the village and take the small road on the left. When it turns right, continue straight ahead along a path. This will take you to the D21.
