Park behind the village church, Place du Prieuré. The route is marked in red all the way.
(S/E) Walk down Rue de la Loire.
(1) Cross the D132 and continue for about 200 metres.
(2) Turn right onto a dirt track. At the next crossroads, turn left towards Chaloché, then right along the Loire. Stop for a moment to admire the view of the river. You will probably see a few herons on the sandbanks. Continue to Le Defrou.
(3) Leave the banks of the Loire via the path that curves to the right. Cross the tarmac road towards Saint-Saturnin and continue to the next crossroads.
(4) Turn right to cross the D132 and head up towards the church on your right. Walk up Rue du Chaudron, which bends to the left, and join a dirt track on the right.
(5) Take this path, which climbs towards the Bois du Lys. The path then bends to the left and a little further on to the right. From this point onwards, it is no longer marked on the map but is very well signposted, still in red. It ends in Saint-Saturnin, Rue de l'Evière.
(6) Turn right, then cross the housing estate and join Place du Prieuré, near the church (S/E).

. It's private property, so you can't get too close, but it's interesting for children. Opposite, on the banks of the Loire, there's a restaurant called Chez Jojo where you can grab a bite to eat
A pleasant first outing with the family to get started on a beautiful sunny Sunday.
