Access by car via the D578 road south of the town of Annonay, in Ardèche, located 8 km away.
Departure from the centre of the village of Quintenas from the park around the church. Parking available.
(S/E) Head west, passing the church on your right, and reach the main street.
(1) Follow Grande Rue to the right heading north. When you reach a roundabout, turn north-east between the industrial buildings onto Chemin des Tisseuses. Continue for 800 m before crossing the large Chemin des Auches.
(2) Turn opposite. After 200 m, ignore a blocked path leading off to the left. 100 m further on, the path curves to the left and joins a main road
(3). Take the hairpin bend to the right, reach and cross the hamlet of Le Vignet. You will arrive at a road that curves to the left. Ignore the road coming from the right and, 50 metres further on, take the path on the right bordered by a high stone wall.
(4) Cross Route de Seytenas and continue opposite, walking alongside the houses on your left. After 300 metres, near a cross, take the path that curves sharply to the right. You will arrive at the hamlet of Les Montaux. After the houses, take the road that turns sharply left and continue for 400 metres.
(5) After a left-hand bend, do not head towards the house but take the path downhill to the right which leads to the Pont des Amis bridge, built by volunteers from Quintenas. Cross the bridge and continue along the path to the right. When you reach a road, follow it to the right for 200 metres. Go around the cemetery on the left to avoid a section of road, then rejoin the road and follow it for 200 metres.
(6) Near the village bypass road, continue at a right angle to the left. After 50 metres, leave the road and take the path on the left (south-east). Cross a stream over a bridge and, after about 600 metres, having crossed the forest and followed the stone wall on the left, you will see an opening in the wall.
(7) Turn left beyond the wall to see, 50 metres away, the Cabane des Fans, also restored by volunteers from Quintenas. Return to the original path.
(7) Continue to the left. Near a shed, you will come to a path coming from the left. Follow this path to the right for 200 metres until you reach a main path, then turn right. The path turns into a road and comes to a junction with a main road (D578).
(8) Cross very carefully and continue along the road opposite. 150 m after passing a house on the left, take the path opposite. Ignore a path leading downhill to the right towards Peyrot. At the next crossroads, ignore a path leading to the right and a larger path leading to the left.
(9) 200 m after this last junction, take the Chemin de Malorier downhill to the right. Follow this path and you will come to a path coming from the right. Continue to the left to cross a bridge and reach the hamlet of Cornasta. Cross this hamlet via a tarmac section and reach another hamlet, Longetane.
(10) At the crossroads in the hamlet, take the slight uphill path on the left, Chemin des Pêchers. After 250 m, ignore the path on the right and follow the path opposite through the vegetation. You will come to a road; take it on the left for 150 m. After a house on the right, take the road on the right. After 50 m, take the path on the right running alongside a property. Cross a stream, arrive at the road in the hamlet of Montjoux and cross it.
(11) Before the last house, leave the road opposite and take the path on the left. After 100 m, follow the road on the right. Cross another road and take the path opposite called Chemin des Presles. The path curves to the left and then crosses another path. 100 m after this junction, the path curves twice to the right. Ignore a path coming from the right and continue for about 200 m.
(12) Turn right onto Chemin des Muriers. The path clearly leads to a road and the first houses of the village. Turn left towards the village centre, using the church as a landmark. Take Route de Saint-Alban d'Ay then Route de Saint-Romain d'Ay to arrive opposite the church. Go around the church and return to the car park (S/E).
