Park in the car park by Lake Bellegarde.
(S/E) With your back to the lake, turn right onto Chemin du Troubadour and follow the stream on your right. Continue straight ahead until you reach the junction with the road leading to the quarry.
(1) Continue straight ahead on the dirt track, following the yellowPR® markings. Take a first turn left then right, and you will come to a crossroads facing a group of lakes.
(2) Cross Chemin de Générac, making a short first turn left then right, walk along the lake and continue straight ahead. At the power lines, temporarily leave the marked trail and take the path opposite.
(3) Turn slightly left then right to leave the fence on your right and rejoin the yellowPR® markings. Pass under the power lines again and turn sharply left to take the path that descends steeply and joins the RD 38.
(4) Carefully cross the departmental road and continue straight ahead to the bridge over the canal. Before reaching the bridge, turn left and follow the canal for 3.5 km to the port of Bellegarde.
(5) Turn left at the roundabout. Cross the roundabout on the left with great caution, then turn left onto Rue Jean Monnet to enter Bellegarde. Continue along Rue d'Arles.
(6) Go around the roundabout on the left and stay on Rue d'Arles until the junction with Rue de la République.
(7) Turn left. At the end of the street, turn slightly left and then immediately right to cross the square and go up the stairs. Once at the top, continue straight ahead up Rue Chanzy. Continue along the path to the castle ruins and the viewpoint.
(8) Continue along Chemin de la Tour until you reach the roundabout.
(9) Take the first exit on the right and go down Chemin du Coste Canet.
(10) At the bottom of the hill, turn left onto Chemin du Troubadour and head to the lake car park (S/E).
