Description of the walk

Parking is available at the Salle des Fêtes car park, Rue du Centre.

(S/E) With your back to the Salle des Fêtes, cross the roundabout using the pedestrian crossing and take the road opposite, Route de Montville. Pass the junction and continue straight on until the next road on the left, approximately 2 km after the start of the route.

(1) Turn left onto Chemin des Cambres and cross the bridge over the A151.

(2) After the bridge, about 50m further on, turn into the track on the left. Follow this track – which is very muddy in wet weather – to reach the Route de Dieppe (D927).

(3) Follow this county road to the left – watch out for traffic – and continue for about 1 km.

(4) Turn left at the first road and cross back over the A151. Continue straight on along the Route du Château until you reach the next junction in the hamlet of Bosc Laurent.

(5) Turn right onto Route de Bosc Laurent and carry on to the T-junction in Sierville. Turn right onto the D504, then turn left straight away as the road bends. Pass the junction by the church and continue to the junction with a wayside cross just after the town hall.

(6) Turn left onto Route de Renfeugères and carry on straight ahead. Take the track at the end of the road and continue to the next road leading to the hamlet of Bosc Net.

(7) Turn left onto Route du Bosc Net and take the first path on the right. After about 470 m, turn left onto the first uphill track, which is quite overgrown with brambles but still visible. Climb to the top of the slope to join a track branching off to the right. Follow this, ignoring the left-hand fork, and carry on straight ahead, ignoring the right-hand forks, until you reach the D124.

(8) Follow it to the left, and take the first path on the right starting at the bend. At the forest gate without a padlock, push the gate leaf to the right to open it, and be sure to put it back in place after passing through. Go straight on through the Bois de Binemare to rejoin the road (D44) after just over 1 km.

(9) Turn left, walk for about 400 m and head up the small gully on the right, situated just at the foot of a cable support pole, which serves as a shortcut.

(10) Continue to the right onto Route de Pavilly and then turn left onto Rue du Centre. Walk past the church and return to the starting point (S/E).

Thanks, guydo. I’m currently in Bayeux, but as soon as I get home I’ll correct the route.

A lovely walk, but I’d advise avoiding the main road at waypoint 3 and continuing straight on to Anceaumeville, then heading to waypoint 4 – it’s a short detour but much more pleasant. Enjoy the walk, everyone!

A rather uninteresting walk. Far too many roads which, although in the countryside, are quite busy. And, above all, there are long stretches of road flanked by high embankments on either side, meaning you can’t get to safety on the hard shoulder when cars are passing. The section of path between the A151 motorway and the D957 is noisy as you’re caught between the flow of traffic on both sides. There’s a minor, harmless error in the route description just after the motorway crossing, where a path that doesn’t exist is suggested. You must turn left immediately after crossing the motorway and not go any further, as indicated on the walking map. Then, at the entrance to Binemare Forest, you have to take a path signposted: ‘Private property – no entry’, ‘Caution: Traps’. There’s no way out except to turn back. I carried on with the walk anyway; I didn’t see any traps. But frankly, Visirando shouldn’t feature routes that take you through private property closed to the public. Fortunately, you emerge further on from the private section onto a forest path that is open to the public. Personally, I’m deleting this walk from my records and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Thank you for taking the time to bring this to my attention; I’ve just made a small amendment to clarify the point.

Kind regards

As you approach the Binemare Forest, there is a real risk of taking the wrong path as it is not very well signposted.
There’s a bit too much tarmac for my liking along the whole route, though you can cut this down if you know your way around the village of Fresquiennes.

I went for a walk on my own in the morning, in the sunshine, although it was a bit chilly.
The first part of the route up to point 5 is of little real interest. Furthermore, I found the noise pollution from the A150 and, to a lesser extent, the N27, highly unpleasant. I didn’t feel particularly at risk walking alongside the N27, as the grass verge was wide enough to be safe. The rest of the route was rather pleasant, but I had to turn back in the Binemare woods and return to Fresquiennes via the D124 because of a hunting party. A pity.
Given these particular circumstances, I didn’t encounter any difficulties.
Thanks to the author.

Firstly: the walks I’m asking to have published are ones I’ve actually walked myself.
Secondly: I’m referring to the first 4 kilometres, which consist mainly of road. If you read the route description, you’ll see – even before setting off – that it includes a lot of sections on the road.
Thirdly: point 3 clearly advises you to watch out for traffic; moreover, by walking well to the left, there’s plenty of room to stay safe without having to walk in the field.

All the best

A walk undertaken in the bitter winter cold.
This walk isn’t just 4km on road but at least 10km, so I was disappointed by the description.
What’s more, Mr Benoit, you’ve taken us along a very, very dangerous stretch at point 3 – so dangerous, in fact, that I was forced to walk through the wheat field to be safer!!!!!
This is the second walk I’ve done after the one in Fréville, so I’d like to know, Mr Benoit, whether you actually walk the routes yourself after mapping them out and publishing them on this site??? Because there can be a huge difference between what’s on a map and reality!!!!
