Around Briastre

Departure from the school car park, Rue Jean Jaurès.

(S/E) From the car park, turn right towards the town hall. After house no. 13, go down the steps on the left, just before La Selle, take the path and continue straight ahead.

(1) At the intersection of the paths, turn right and cross the Selle. At the intersection with the chapel, turn left and follow the path to the next intersection. Continue along the path on the left and cross the Selle.

(2) At the junction with Rue Jules Guesde (D109), turn right, go under the bridge, ignore the streets on the left and right, then pass in front of the fire station.

(3) At the intersection with Avenue Aristide Briand, turn right and at the next intersection, turn right onto Rue de Selle. Stay on this street and ignore the streets on the right and left.

(4) At the intersection with Rue Georges Clemenceau, opposite the town hall, turn right onto Rue Jean Jaurès, pass the church, ignore the street on the right and take Rue Émile Duée opposite. At the intersection with Rue Raymond Poirette, turn right.

(5) At the crossroads with Rue Roger Salengro, turn left, ignore the two streets on the right, then at the crossroads with Rue Royale, continue straight ahead. At the intersection with Rue Émile Zola, opposite the Collège Saint-Michel, turn right, ignore the streets and paths on the right and left, then take the VC 206 road.

(6) At the VC206 crossroads, turn right, then at the next crossroads with Chemin d'Amerval, turn left and right.

(7) At the intersection with Chemin de Gouvemez, turn left, and at the end of this road, take the path on the left. At the intersection with Les Fonds de Solesmes, turn right onto Ruelle de la Quesnay, then at the intersection, take the grassy path on the left.

(8) At the Chemin Les Fonds de Solesmes crossroads, turn right until the next intersection, turn left and take the grassy path.

(9) At the junction with the D98, turn right, then at the junction with the D955, cross and continue along Rue du 14 Juillet. At the three-way junction with Rue de la République, turn left, then right onto Rue des Tilleuls and follow the Selle.

(10) At the footbridge, turn left, cross the Selle and follow the path, then Rue du Marais. At the intersection with Rue de Montay, turn right, then left at the crossroads with Rue du Centre.

(11) At the three-way junction at Place de l'Étoile, follow Rue du Calvaire to the right. At the crossroads with Rue de la Bonnette, turn right. At the next crossroads with Rue de Troisvilles, take the path opposite.

(12) At the crossroads with Rue de Troisvilles, take the road opposite, continue straight ahead at the crossroads and then turn right. Ignore the roads on the right and left, take Rue Paul Doumer and pass the stadium on your right. At the crossroads with Rue Antoine, turn left and follow the path opposite.

(13) At the intersection with Rue du 11 Novembre 1918, turn right, then at the intersection with Rue Paul Doumer, opposite the church, turn left then right and you will arrive at the car park opposite the school (S/E).

The route is easy but not signposted. The terrain consists of earth, grass, stones, paving stones and tarmac. Wear suitable footwear.
