The walk starts on the banks of the Vilaine, in the car park on the left, at the exit of the bridge on the road between Laillé and Guichen.
(S/E) From the car park, go up the road, turn right, cross the bridge and continue towards Laillé. Ignore the first road on the right. Continue to the second road, also on the right.
(1) Take the road on the right and enter the hamlet (Les Vallées). Follow the red and white markings ofthe GR®39. Turn right at the first road and you will soon reach a crossroads.
(2) Take the small path on the left and continue on the GR®. This path turns 90° to the right and, after about 15 minutes' walk, leads to a small road. Take it to the left for about 100 metres.
(3) Leave the road and follow the wide path on the right (GR® and two other trails). Continue on the GR®. Go around a lake and turn right onto a road near a place called La Marcillais.
(4) Just before a three-way junction, theGR® turns left onto the small road, towards a riding centre. The road quickly becomes a path. When you reach another road, turn left and continue straight ahead. After passing a pond (on the left), the path runs alongside the Château de la Réauté and reaches a fork.
(5) Turn right (GR®) onto the path that climbs into the woods. First turn left, then right at a place called La Forge to head towards La Mare. At the entrance to the hamlet, follow theGR® which turns right onto a wide path and descends towards the Vilaine.
(6) Continue straight ahead, crossing the bridge over a road (D38). Continue along the wide path, which turns into a small road and leads to another road at the entrance to Bourg-des-Comptes.
(7) Leave theGR® and turn left onto Rue de la Gare. Continue to thethird street on the right, Rue de la Visnonia. Continue along this street and take the first left, Rue des Aulnes. In the sharp bend, turn left onto Passage du Gué. At the end of this street, you will arrive at the village of La Courbe. Turn right and then immediately left, until you reach the banks of the Vilaine. You can picnic on the island opposite.
(8) Turn around, pass to the left of the bar-restaurant and continue along the small road (GR® trail). Continue past the campsite. At the end of the road, leave theGR® trail, turn left and cross the Pont de Glanret bridge over the Vilaine river.
(9) In the small village after the bridge, take the small street on the left that leads down to the towpath. Take the towpath on the left and stay on it. Just before the bridge, you will see the car park on the left
(S/E). Return to the car park. End of the walk.
