North of Mauvezin d’Armagnac

Park in the village hall car park (Route de Gabarret).

(S/E) Leave the car park heading east and exit the village. Cross the bridge over the Ruisseau de Cavaillon, then quickly leave the road and head up to the left (north) onto the embankment above the road, crossing meadows with the Château de Seridos in sight. Walk in a circular route around the large ditch and follow the edge of the forest for a long stretch.

(1) At the end of the path, on the wide track, turn left down a gentle slope. Stay on this track.

(2) At a place called Lagrange (old blue shed), cross the four-way junction and carry on straight ahead along the road.

(3) Before reaching the houses at Arragegats, turn left between the oak trees onto a small footbridge. Climb the hill, cross the Ruisseau de Pouthet and carry on. Pass the old Château de Pouthet, then make a slight left-right detour along the road.

(4) Head up the dead-end track to the left (road sign). Pass several properties (enjoy the view) and head back down into the Pouthet Stream valley.

(5) Ignore the path on the right and carry on straight ahead. Cross the little Ru de Joutan. Then stay on this path until you reach the little Route de la Coustète, where you turn left.

(6) At the bend, leave the road and take the path opposite, between the vineyards, which will lead you to the Château de Briat.

(7) First turn left then right and take the access path to this property in the opposite direction until you reach the Route de Créon d’Armagnac.

(8) Turn right to reach the village of Mauvezin. At the crossroads, turn left towards the car park (S/E).
