Departure from the station.
(S/E) Turn right onto Avenue Maurice Blondel and at the crossroads continue right down Avenue Maurice Schuman. Shortly after passing under the railway line, cross the avenue and take the path along the faculty which leads to a footbridge over the railway line at the entrance to Parc Jourdan.
(1) Take the footbridge and enter Parc Jourdan. Turn right in the park and continue to the exit. You will come out onto Avenue Jules Ferry; turn right and follow the road. Take the first left, Avenue Pierre Puget, which becomes Rue de Cuques after about 300 metres.
(2) At the end, turn right onto Avenue Saint-Jérôme. Then take Allée des Cigales on the left. You will come out onto Cours Gambetta. Cross it and follow it to the right (downhill) until you reach the entrance to Parc de la Torse.
(3) Go down into the park and walk along the Torse on your right. At the first bridge, cross to the opposite bank and continue along the stream on your left until you reach Avenue des Écoles Militaires.
(4) Cross the avenue and continue straight ahead on Chemin du Bois de la Cortesine. After 500 metres, after a small ford, the trail leaves the banks of the Torse and follows Traverse de la Cortesine, which joins a small road in a residential area.
(5) Turn left towards a roundabout. Continue straight ahead until you reach a branch of the Torse, which you cross via a bridge at the entrance to Traverse du Lavoir de Grand-Mère.
(6) Turn right onto a path that runs along the right bank of the river. After 100 metres, it leads to the ruins of the Lavoir de Saint-Thomas de Villeneuve and its monumental staircase.
(7) Retrace your steps back to the crossing.
(6) Turn right and you will come to a roundabout. Take Avenue du Docteur Aurientis opposite, which leads to Rambot Park.
(8) Cross Cours des Arts et Métiers and enter the park on the left. Walk around the park clockwise and, halfway around, exit onto Avenue de la Sainte-Victoire. Follow the avenue to the left and downhill to Place Bellegarde.
(9) Enter the centre of Aix by turning left onto Rue Mignet. Walk down to the Fontaine des Prêcheurs fountain and then Place de Verdun. Then take Rue Thiers diagonally to the left. At Place Forbin, continue along Rue d'Italie. Keep going straight ahead until you reach Boulevard du Roi René.
(10) Follow it to the right for just over 500 metres. At the traffic lights, turn left onto Avenue Victor Hugo, which will take you to the station (S/E).
