Description of the walk

Park in the large car park along the B103 or Plaine Champagne Road.

(S/E) Head down the path to reach a waterfall, then continue straight ahead to enjoy a panoramic view of the valley and the ocean.

(1) Turn back a few steps, then turn right and cross the small streams.
Caution: the path becomes very steep, narrow and strewn with large rocks.
Continue downhill to reach the top of Alexandra Falls. Take care not to slip here; a fall would be fatal.

(2) Turn around and head back to the car park (S/E).

Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 671 m - Departure from the car park
  2. 1 : km 0.24 - alt. 655 m - Viewpoint

Notes

Watch out for the monkeys, who tend to be thieving.
Walking shoes are essential; be mindful of your fitness level, as the path is very steep and uneven both on the ascent and descent.
(S/E) At the car park, take the opportunity to enjoy a glass of exotic fruit juice freshly prepared by the locals.

Worth a visit

(2) Alexandra Falls: admire the extraordinary view of the valley and the ocean as you look down on the 150-metre-high waterfall plunging into the forest below.
Be careful not to slip; a fall would be fatal.
You can take a dip in the small pool, which resembles an infinity pool.

The first waterfall as you arrive at the car park isn’t particularly impressive, but the route leading to the other waterfall is really lovely… there are a few tricky sections due to the slippery rocks (the ground was muddy), but it’s actually quite manageable
The view from the top of the waterfall is fantastic.....

A fairly easy hike in the cool air, especially if you set off in the morning. The last 30 metres are very steep but with handrails it's doable (be prepared to help children though). We did it in dry weather so there was very little mud, but that's not always the case and it's probably more difficult when it's slippery.

An easy walk to follow... with a few slightly challenging sections on the ascents and descents. Best avoided in wet weather or after rain, as it can be very slippery.
We did it as a family.
Thanks to the creator of the walk.

A stunning waterfall – the best I’ve ever seen. At the start of the walk, you just need to go under the yellow barrier tape and cross the river. It’s a bit of a workout, but brilliant.
