Abersee to Wacht

Starting point of the hiking tour: bike ferry Greinz Abersee - St. Wolfgang

(S) We follow the lake road through Abersee and turn left before the church, next right, then left.

(1) A covered bridge leads us over the Zinkenbach. Behind it we keep left and follow the railway embankment path. At the end, turn left and immediately right again. We pass a campsite. We reach a large car park and turn left to the pier.

(2) From the pier you have a beautiful view of Lake Wolfgangsee. We turn round, turn left and continue along the railway embankment path. Keep left at the fork in the path behind the Seewinkel campsite. At the next fork in the path, we keep left again.

(3) We have reached the Strobl municipal swimming pool. We cross the Moosbach stream and take the next left.

(4) The path leads us to a viewpoint of Lake Wolfgangsee with two benches. We turn round, turn left and follow the lakeside path through the Blinklingmoos nature reserve. We head towards Strobl.

(5) At the supermarket, we turn left onto Moosgasse. Shortly afterwards we reach the village square, where we turn left.

(6) At the riverside promenade we turn right, passing boathouses and jetties. At the end, we turn left and follow Bürglstraße until we reach the bridge over the Ischl.

(7) Before the bridge, we turn right onto a narrow path that leads us directly along the Ischl. At the end of the path we turn left, cross the Ischl and then turn right. At the end, we turn right onto Schwarzenseestraße, then take the 2nd left.

(8) We walk along the Ischl again. We turn right over the next bridge, then right and the next left. We take the 2nd right, then left.

(9) We cross the Mühlbach stream. At the end we turn left, then 2nd right, at the end left, 2nd right. We pass the Hotel zur Wacht and reach the bus stop (E).
