The plain and forest of the Montagne de l'Artigues
An alternating view of pasture and fresh forests, this pleasant flat walk will lead you past the Notre Dame d'Esparron chapel and its small cemetery classified as an historical monument.
Crossing the tiny village of Artigues is also surprising. You'll particularly enjoy refilling your water bottles at the communal fountain.
The advantage of this charming loop that it's flat and very manageable, there are only one or two small climbs along the route.
Col des Portes loop
A beautiful panoramic view of the north face of Sainte-Victoire. In the distance, the Luberon, Lure, the peak of Mont Ventoux, a beautiful view of the Alps on a clear day, crossing isolated meadows at the foot of the Ubacs mountain.
Part of the route crosses a private hunting ground, so it is unthinkable to do this section during the hunting season, but it can easily be avoided.
Marseilleveyre and Malvallon Sud from the Fontaine de Voire
This is a very challenging hike offering beautiful aerial views and a winding path through the valleys. The Fontaine de Voire and Fontaine de Bres are the only sources of water in the entire massif.
You are in the Calanques National Park, which is subject to specific regulations. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in a fine of up to €1,500.
The Old Roquefort and Saint-André Chapel from the Grand Caune
This walk will surprise you with its views of all the main Provençal mountain ranges.Perched on a rocky outcrop at the foot of a cliff, you will discover the ruins of an old village abandoned in the 17th century, as well as a pretty stone chapel. A walk in the clouds.
Boucle des Crêtes de Vautubière
Located between Sainte-Victoire and Luberon, the Montagne de Vautubiere offers beautiful views of the entire Provençal mountains (from the Southern Alps to Sainte-Baume).
You can also discover a pretty hidden agricultural valley. This walk combines superb views with the freshness of cultivated meadows surrounded by forests, offering a pleasant change of scenery.
On the heights of Mazaugues
A dense, cool forest and a panoramic view of the Provençal mountains with the Îles du Levant in the distance. A mostly elevated hike, a floral explosion in June, and a refreshing end along a small river.
Tour of the Dents de Roque Forcade via the Plan des Vaches
La Sainte-Baume as you've never seen it before: a ledge at the foot of imposing rocky peaks, a short climb to reach an isolated plateau offering panoramic views of the Alps as far as Cap Sicié. The entire walk is on small, wild trails, just the way I like them.
A challenging walk with an 8-metre rock climb, rated 2 at most (easy scrambling).
Loop of the Huveaune springs from Sainte-Baume
There is a long, steep descent, but the views are magnificent on both the Sainte-Baume and Sainte-Victoire sides. The forest surrounding the Gorges de l'Huveaune is cool and dense, and the yellow waterfalls in the riverbed are surprising. This is a short excursion into the Sainte-Baume forest.
a varied and challenging walk.
Huveaune via the Pas de Peyruis
A loop passing through the Gorges de l'Huveaune to its source, with some beautiful views across the hills to Sainte-Baume and Sainte-Victoire.
Please note that from 6 November 2023 to 22 December 2023, access to the source of the Huveaune is prohibited. ONF construction work in progress.
Porquerolles West
Small coves, mini-coves on a human scale, beautiful forests with a variety of species, agricultural plains, sandy beaches, cliffs with superb views... a varied walk that will give you just a glimpse of half the beauty of this island.
Very important: Find out about restrictions on access to the forest areas.
Crête de la Sainte-Baume
The coolness of a large forest on the north side, the rocky beauty of the south side, magnificent views from the summit ridge, small paths along ledges, and a cool return trip.
Please note that this hike can be difficult in bad weather or windy conditions, particularly between waypoints 3 and 5. Therefore, be very careful and do not take any unnecessary risks.
