Waypoints

  1. S : km 0 - alt. 89 m
  2. 1 : km 1.92 - alt. 282 m - A little scramble to the summit cairn is well worth the effort for the spectacular views across Derwentwater and the surrounding Fells. A fitting place for the war memorial at the top of this amazing little mountain.
  3. 2 : km 2.01 - alt. 269 m - Another great spot for photographic compositions, whether you like grand vista's or the more intimate landscape - there really is something for everyone up here. You will also find the 'turrets' of slate in this area!
  4. 3 : km 2.08 - alt. 245 m - Climb the Spoil heap where you will find a well defined path. This can be a bit loose and slippery in wet weather
  5. 4 : km 2.18 - alt. 224 m - As you leave the woodlands, you come to a small plateau. There are several possible compositions around here, so well worth exploring
  6. 5 : km 2.6 - alt. 91 m - Leave the Cumbria Way footpath and follow a small, fairly steep path up towards Castle Crag
  7. 6 : km 3.11 - alt. 85 m - Cross the river over the little bridge and turn right, following the Cumbria Way
  8. 7 : km 3.4 - alt. 86 m - Don't cross the river at the stepping stones, instead follow the path round to the right. - Stepping Stones
  9. 8 : km 3.84 - alt. 89 m - Start at the National Trust Carpark. Turn right out of the car park, up the lane and through the farm - Start/Finish
  10. E : km 4.38 - alt. 86 m
