Waypoints
- S/E : km 0 - alt. 21 m - From our meeting place at the garden area on Blairforkie Drive walk up the gradually climbing road that is Blairforkie Drive and continue on and join Glen Road. About 200 metres or so past the entrance to Fishers Green on your left you will come to a fork in the road.
- 2 : km 1.53 - alt. 69 m - Go straight ahead on to Old Glen Road previously the back road and now a walking route to Dunblane. Proceed along this pleasant winding tree lined road taking great care as there is erosion in parts, uneven surfaces, gravel and after rain there will be mud in places. Amble along and you will cross the Wharrieburn followed by a short gentle uphill stretch which will take you to the tarmac road. Houses on the right hand side and a cottage on the left.
- 3 : km 2.77 - alt. 111 m - Walk along and you will come to a small hamlet and Sheriffmuir Road is on the right. On reaching Sheriffmuir Road and the house called The Firs turn left and follow the path round keeping to the left, through a wooded area and the path will wind down to join the Darn Road. The path gently slopes down over a rough wet stoney area, rarely dry due to an underground spring. Best to keep to the right hand side and have the wall for support. Again the path crosses the Wharrieburn on a sturdy wooden bridge. Take the right hand track and walk along – the Allan Water will be on your right now until joining Blairforkie Drive.
- 4 : km 6.56 - alt. 20 m - The path continues along and you will see a cave on your left, go over a small bridge and steps to an upper path. Walk along and round into a dell with stepping stones over a stream and steps up the other side. Keep to the right and join the path, narrow in places, and walk along the side of the Allan Water and rejoin Blairforkie Drive.
