Waypoints

  1. S/E : km 0 - alt. 458 m - Start out going southwest from Refuge Madeloc top the col de Taillefer (signpost) You could also start by parking at the Col de la Serre, the most northerly point of the walk.
  2. 2 : km 0.31 - alt. 465 m - From the Col, take the path which climbs southeast towards the summit (See map for details).
  3. 3 : km 1.79 - alt. 644 m - You reach the Tour de Madeloc (626m) Admire the view, then take the road which continues steeply down to the Batterie de Cinq Cents.n
  4. 4 : km 2.98 - alt. 493 m - At the Batterie there is a small path on the right at the bend in the road, which descends steeply to the GR10.
  5. 5 : km 3.22 - alt. 423 m - Join the GR10 at the post. Turn right and follow the path which contours to the NW.
  6. 6 : km 3.97 - alt. 465 m - At the Mas d'en Reig, notice the tiled wine stores, used to make wine on site rather than transport the grapes. There is a spring behind which is dry in summer.
  7. 7 : km 4.87 - alt. 411 m - Just after the col de Vallauria, leave the GR10 by taking the path on the right which contours the massif below the tower. This is the Chemin D'eau which carries drinking water from the mountains to Port Vendres.
  8. 8 : km 6.72 - alt. 390 m - At the post a possible short cut, turning right uphill to rejoin at the Col de Taillefer.
  9. S/E : km 7.31 - alt. 459 m
