Start from Dean Lane, Water. Parking in Dean Lane.
(S/E) Take Bridge Street south over the stream. Leave lane by taking stile into a field and head south-east along the north side of dyke. Take stile and keep heading along the north of boundary towards wind turbine. Keep heading south-east along the field boundary. Cross into the field and keep heading south-east along the field boundary. Take gate and head south-east along track towards farm buildings.
(1) Take path between farm buildings to the road on the east of the farm. Head briefly South on Carr Road. Leave Road and take track south-east along the north side of the gully. Cross the stile into the field and keep heading south-east along the north side of the gully. Take stile and head south-east along clear depression toward the trig point. Continue south-east along depression to the trig point.
(2) Cross a stile by a trig point and follow wall north. Head north along the east side of the wall. Keep heading north along the east side of the wall via a stile. Continue north along the east of field boundary to a farm track. Cross farm track and head north towards the pylon. Continue north along the west side of field boundary. Pass by pylon heading north to stiles out of the field and onto Bacup Old Road. Take Road north past chalet.
(3) Turn West at lane junction and follow the lane into the farmyard. Take stile into fields to the west of farm buildings. Use stile to follow the path towards farm buildings. Cross track and make way around the north side of Clifton.
(4) At gateway head north along the east side of the wall. Take stile onto Rossendale Way. Turn West briefly then north-west along the west side of the wall. Use stone steps to cross the wall and continue north-west along the west side of the wall. Stay on the south side of the high wall and head west.
(5) Head south-west away from the wall towards farm buildings below. Continue south-west along the path. Take steps down to farm track and cross track to the path to the north of the barn.
(6) Follow path south-west between fences. Take stile into field and head across the field. Take stile and head south towards houses. Leave field and take the path south between houses and down Dean Fold to Dean Lane. Turn west back to start.(S/E)
