Description
Start: Balnellan Rd Car Park, Braemar (AB35 5YE). Grid ref. NO 151 913
(D/A) From the car park take the old military road (Invercauld road) to cross the Clunie Water river (West). Directly after the bridge take left (South) on Cluniebank road. Continue straight on this road that goes towards the golf club. Cross the golf course and continue straight for around 2 Km.
(1) Arriving at the level of a small car park (on your right hand side) and a big antenna take right (South-West) on the path going up following on the side of the mountain. Continue straight ahead to the top of Morrone (around 4.3 Km).
(2) At the summit go straight to go back down for around 2.5 Km.
(3) At a road intersection take left towards the circular path of the Morrone Birkwood reserve (or you can shorter this walk by following the direction of the center of Braemar). Continue straight on this path until you reach a large ladder
(4) At the ladder take right (North) and continue straight until exiting the reserve and reaching a concrete road. (around 1.9 Km)
(5) Turn left and continue straight until arriving on Mar road, take right to cross the bridge and joining the car park. (D/A)
