Mayar Circular from Glen Doll - Cairngorms National Park

A superb hike, which starts on the Corrie Fee Trail and continues to a waterfall and the summit of Mayar. The view of the waterfall and the heathland is magnificent. The climb is mainly from the waterfall. Make sure you have good hiking boots and a good windbreaker. You will be dazzled by the scenery.

Description of the walk

Starting point: large, shaded pay car park called Glen Doll.

Follow the Corrie Fee trail to the waterfall. Just before you leave the forest, cross a stream and take the path on the right.

Once you reach the waterfall, the trail is not well marked. A GPS is essential to follow it. Do not walk along the waterfall, but follow it a little further to the right. The trail begins to climb steeply.

You will eventually arrive at a sort of sloping plateau that leads almost straight to the summit.

At the summit, the trail heads almost straight left. Go through the gates to reach the Kilbo Trail, which leads back to the car park.

Still without any markings, find a well-marked path at the intersection of the path that leads to the Driesh summit (you can add the round trip if you wish).
