The Green route takes you to Corrie Fee, an exceptional peat bog set in a magnificent glacial cirque. Many people do a return walk from Acharn. Here we suggest a circular route involving a steep climb over boulders (‘staircase’) to reach the summit of Mayar. From the summit, follow the ridge line eastwards and then north-eastwards.

There is a large pay-and-display car park at the start of the walk, at the entrance to the hamlet of Acharn. To get there, head to Clova via the B955. Then take a small road heading north-north-west.
The climb to Mayar, between (4) and (5), can be very slippery, or even dangerous, in wet weather.
