(2) At the turning circle, continue straight across continuing to walk along the edge of the housing estate. At the end of the houses, cross the field and then continue through the wooded area until you reach the allotment gardens.

(3) Continue to follow the path which will turn North along the edge of the allotment gardens and onto Holder House Lane until it emerges onto Nevinson Avenue. Turn right (Esat) and then cross the road using the crossing island. Walk a short way (85 m or so) along Nevinson Avenue and then bear left onto a footpath. This will emerge on King George Road (A1018) by the roundabout.

(4) Cross King George Road and pick up the footpath immediately opposite continuing in an Easterly direction along the back of the houses. Cross Sunderland Road and continue following the path Eastwards.

(5) After 700 m or so, on reaching Sunniside Lane, look to your left to see the Cleadon Water Tower, then turn right (South) for 150m then turn left. Go through the gate to your right and then keep to the left-hand side of the field, walk to Cleadon Windmill.

(6) From the windmill follow the path along the wall in a Southerly, then South-Easterly direction, cross the stile in the corner of the field and then walk Southwards with the trees on your right. The path will bend to the left at the end of the trees and then sharply right (South) at another stile.
