To get to the start, head towards Les Crozets (39260). In the village, follow signs for Clairvaux. Pass the Les Louvières chalet and park in the car park on the bend, in front of the Auberge du Pré du Frêne. Please note, the car park is often icy in snowy weather!
(S/E) Head north along Rue du Pré du Frêne. Put on your skis or snowshoes in front of the small hut, then take the track that branches off to the left. Please note: there is only one marked track, so you cannot go wrong, but to avoid following the wrong route, please follow the circular track using the ruts on the right-hand side of the track.
(1) On Chemin du Clos de la Vie, continue north for 1.8 km. Please note: the two junctions branching off to the right shorten the circular route and take you back along the return route.
(2) At the third fork, turn right to head south-southeast. Stay on this track for 2.2 km.
(3) At thesecond junction, turn left and stay on the track until you return to your starting point (S/E).
