A beautiful discovery and a very interesting route.
The start begins with a road that can easily be avoided, as there is a dirt track on the left-hand side of this road that runs alongside it and joins the route.
Discover ancient ruins and the Temple of Diana, pretty houses and the old village of Vernègues with its castle. Don't hesitate to go to the orientation table.
We did this hike on a cloudy autumn day, which was just as well because there are many open areas where it must get very hot in summer.

For this hike, I recommend downloading the route to your phone.
You will often find yourself on unmarked trails, and we had a lot of trouble understanding the description at times, so the GPX track was often very welcome.
A pleasant and easy hike.

a very interesting and varied hike with some lovely surprises in store for Provence
a yellow and blue parrot that followed us for fifteen minutes! Horses grazing
then a horse-drawn carriage with two horses galloping by And finally, a herd of cows, rare in Provence, in a grove
the high-speed train isn't a nuisance and is now part of the scenery!

a lovely walk suitable for all ages, with no particular difficulties. It's amazing to see these ancient temple ruins lost in the countryside. The castle offers a beautiful view of the valley. It's a shame that the TGV viaduct spoils the landscape a little

Hello. I was planning an outing for a group. I got lost between the 4th and 5th and ended up taking the road to the village of Vernègue, which cost me a lot of time. Once I reached the village, I turned back because the days are short at this time of year, and I saw the path I had missed on the way there. So I'll have to come back to finish exploring the route.
But it's a very beautiful route. Be sure to allow plenty of time to visit the old village.
Best regards
Mr Court

A beautiful hike on this Sunday in early November.
There are some beautiful ruins and superb views in the old village.
The signs could do with updating as some are illegible.
You need a GPS to avoid taking the wrong paths.

Without GPS, it is quite difficult to find your way around the various trail junctions.
However, it is an easy hike, with the length mainly due to stops at points of interest.
These are varied, which makes it enjoyable: old stones and viewpoints.

An interesting and fairly easy hike on wide, rocky paths, with high-altitude views of the entire region, including the Alpilles and its summit, the Tour des Opies. GPS tracking is recommended! One small downside, however, is the section on the D25 road between Aureille and the car park, which requires walking through olive groves or along difficult verges.

Very beautiful hike. Signposting is limited but with GPS it's no problem. Beautiful view from the orientation table, the TGV line at the start and finish isn't really a nuisance. The icing on the cake was that we even found enough wild asparagus for tonight's omelette
