Access: From the D7N between Lambesc and Pont Royal, take the D 22B towards Vernègues (signposted Cazan - Les Carlats) and turn right towards the Chapelle Saint-Symphorien
Park in the car park at the Chapelle St Symphorien.
(S/E) From the Chapelle Saint-Symphorien car park, join the RD 22B, turn right for 300 m then turn left onto Chemin de Vinsargues. Turn right onto Chemin de Coucheport, passing under the LGV viaduct, until you reach a crossroads.
(1) Take thesecond road on the left.
Please note: there are two paths leading off to the left, only a few metres apart.
Follow it towards Chateau-Bas, a large wine estate. Pass it, keeping it on your right.
Pass the driveway to the château (elevation 200) and turn right along the hedge of trees, returning towards the château. You will see the Temple of Diana and the Saint-Césaire Chapel on your left.
(2) Continue west, staying on the path that branches off to the right to join a paved road. Take it to the left for a few metres, then turn right to pass in front of the Pavillon de Victoire. You will reach a four-way intersection in the middle of several vineyards.
(3) Continue straight ahead, heading back up towards the RD22B road to the north-west. Take this road on the left for a few metres. Leave it and turn left to reach an oratory.
(4) Follow the path opposite the oratory to reach the village of Vernègues. Continue to the crossroads.
(5) Turn right onto Rue du Vieux-Vernègues. At the end of the street, at a cistern, turn left. At the next crossroads, take the path that climbs to the right towards the cemetery and the old church, which was restored about twenty years ago by volunteers.
(6) With the chapel on your right, take the path opposite that climbs towards the ruins of the old village and castle and go around them on the right. Turn right.
(7) At the fork north of the ruins, turn left to reach a small plateau where an old mill serves as an orientation table. Go around it to return to the fork.
(7) Turn left and follow theGR®6to a crossroads of paths at a right angle.
(8) Keep right on theGR®6. Join a small road and turn left, leaving it at the third path on the left to stay on theGR®6. After a short descent, you will reach a new four-way intersection.
(9) Leave theGR®6and continue straight ahead. Cross Camp Caïn. Stay on this path towards the LGV railway line.
(10) Go over this track, take the path on the right, then thefirst on the left to turn right towards the cemetery and Saint-Symphorien chapel and the car park where you started (S/E).
