Description of the walk

The stage begins at the gite 7 degres east (1), at Echalp hamlet in the Abriès commune.

Head towards Col Lacroix (Lacroix pass) located at the top of the hamlet. Follow GR58B. The route is waymarked yellow at first. You'll slowly head up through the forest. You'll then leave the forest and reach Col Lacroix (2299m).

At the pass (2), head towards Refuge Jervis al Pra. It's a downhill slope along a small trail through the forest. Head down towards the shelter.

(3) Head towards Refuge Granero. Over about 2 km, follow the trail along the valley river (due south). Start the hike up towards Refuge Granero which is quite steep at first all the while taking the time to admire the beautiful landscape. Get to Refuge Granero (4) located above a lake.

Good evening,
Thank you very much for these details and information! We're going to do the tour in this direction, to avoid the Agnel refuge, and with a slight variation, starting with a night in the Monte Granero refuge.
All the best,
Laure Joachim

Hello
The technical difficulty of the Tour du Viso (there are several circuits that go around this summit) is that of a mountain hike. Without being high mountain, it's still something serious.
I did this tour but starting from the Roche Ecroulée and first stage at the Viso refuge (in France), then the Traversette tunnel and a stage at Quintino Sella up the Chemin du Facteur, and the third stage at Vallante before returning to the Roche Ecroulée. This tour may seem easier than the one you can see on the website, but you'll enjoy it just as much.
As for your children, given the 5-day tour they've done in the past, this tour seems well within their capabilities.
Good preparation

Hello,

Is this hike accessible for children (8 and 10) who are used to doing 6-8 hour hikes (Pyrenees + Alps)? For information, last year we did 5 days of roaming with an average of 1000 m of ascent per day.
I'm wondering about the degree of technical difficulty.

Thanks for your help,
Laure Joachim
