Park in the village of Saint-Nicolas-des-leat, next to the church or in the central square.
(S/E) From the church, head south towards the town hall and turn left onto the D420. After 150 metres, turn left, heading east, onto a tarmac road towards Les Grelins. This tarmac road turns into a dirt track (Le Traive) which climbs through the woods.
(1) At the crossroads (plinth with a broken cross), turn right, then after about 100 metres, turn left. The path, lined with blueberry bushes, climbs through the woods to the D478.
(2) Cross the road and turn right, heading east, onto the path that leads up onto the plateau. Cross a crossroads. Stay on the main path until you reach an orientation table.
(3) At the Roc du Vacher orientation table, continue along the path, leaving the Roc du Vacher on your left.
(4) At the intersection, turn right to reach a footbridge a few metres further on that winds its way over the bog. Follow it to the observation platform at the end. Return to the intersection
(4) Continue down the path on the right. When you reach a dirt track, turn right and follow it for about 20 metres, then take the path on the left, heading south-west.
When you reach an intersection, take the path on the right and then, after about 100 metres, take the path on the left. You will come to a tarmac road; follow it to the left. When you reach the road, turn right and follow it to the large Bol d'Air crossroads.
(5) Cross the crossroads and take the path that runs along the left side of the old Bol d'Air restaurant. At the edge of a coniferous wood, leave the main path and take a grassy path on the right, somewhat hidden by a small embankment. After walking along the conifers, enter a deciduous wood to reach the rear of the Camping des Myrtilles buildings.
(6) At the buildings, turn left and follow the path which, after passing the campsite playground, enters the woods (this path, although well marked, does not appear on some maps). The path winds through a deciduous forest and then crosses a patch of conifers. At the end of this patch, at the fork, turn right onto the dirt track. At the next intersection, take the path on the right.
(7) At the reservoir, stay on the main path, heading north (it veers to the right). At La Caton house, this path turns into a small tarmac road, which we follow down to the village (S/E).
