_ Start _: Arriving from Perros-Guirec, head towards Trégastel.
After the semaphore bend, which offers a general view of the Anse de Perros-Guirec, with
Ile Tomé (on the right) and the Sept-Îles archipelago opposite, take the first road on the right:
Camping du Ranolien.
(S/E) Start from the Ranolien public car park.
Head due South towards the entrance to the car park, and immediately take the path on the left. This is the GR®34, with the Plage de Trestraou and the town of Perros-Guirec on the horizon.
(1) Take the path to the right (leaving the GR®), following the sign "Les Landes de Ploumanac'h". The path leads to Rue des Fougères, which you follow by turning right. You then come to the D788, Boulevard du Sémaphore, which you cross (beware of heavy seasonal traffic). Turn right and, after 50 m, turn left onto the road leading to the semaphore (not open to visitors - military site), then left before the right-hand bend.
Keep going straight ahead and the path widens to join Rue du Tertre. Continue as far as the orientation table.
(2) Le Tertre is a rocky promontory offering breathtaking views of the Côte de Granit Rose.
Climb down the staircase opposite Le Tertre and take the path to the left. This leads to Rue des Bruyères, which turns right. Follow this street as it bends to the left, leading to Rue des Frères Hurvoy, which you turn right into. Ignore Rue du Cribo on the left, then enter the car park on the left before the coaches parking bays.
Turn right onto a new road which takes you back over the main road (protected raised crossing). Turn left, then immediately right along a path. We enter the "Christian Gad and Daniel Chee" Sculpture Park.
(3) This sculpture park features monumental works in granite by several French and foreign artists, carved and sculpted during two symposia organized by the town of Perros-Guirec.
Leave the park on the path to the East, which after a few metres heads due North.
This leads to the Chemin du Ranolien, which you take by turning left. On the right, you'll see an old soccer pitch that has been converted into a parking lot for camper vans.
After entering the car park, take the right-hand path. In places, you'll be walking on pink granite rocks.
Bend left onto the track to join Rue des Ajoncs d'Or, which you follow to its end. At the crossroads, go straight on slightly to the right to reach the Saint-Guirec car park.
At the end of it, turn left into Rue du Triskel, then right into Rue Saint-Guirec. Turn left into Rue de l'Oratoire and left again into Rue de la Fontaine.
This leads to Rue du Centre, with Ploumanac'h harbour on the right.
(4) Continue along the harbour on the right, taking Chemin de la Pointe. After the harbour master's office (n°118 - building on the right, encroaching on the street), take the path on the right towards "La Bastille".
At the end of the path, on the left, stairs lead directly to the beach. On the right, the path descends, then turns left to return to the beach.
(5) La Bastille beach: you can see the access channel to Ploumanac'h harbour and, close to the coast, the Château de Coastaéres. It was on this island that sailors dried their fish in the sun (Costaéres in Breton = veille sécherie). Continue along the path. After climbing a granite chaos, the path leads to the Chapelle Saint-Guirec.
(6) Walk along the chapel, leaving it to your right, and reach the beach, low tide permitting, where the Oratoire Saint-Guirec is on your left. Go up to the slipway, leaving the "Castel Beau Site" on your right. Take the 1st street on the left.
If the sea is high and prevents access to the beach: when you arrive in front of the chapel, take the path on the right which leads to Rue de l'Oratoire, which you turn left into Rue Saint-Guirec. Then turn right.
Immediately turn left between nos. 155 and 157 and continue straight ahead along the path.
After about 100 m, you'll see a peculiarly shaped rock on your left, called "Le Bélier". The path leads to a carriage road on the left. Follow it to the Maison du Littoral. During the school vacations, you can visit an exhibition on granite in conjunction with the Conservatoire du Littoral. (Coastline Protection Agency)
(7) Off the circuit, opposite, is the Mean Ruz lighthouse. To get there, turn left at the crossroads, then take the first path on the right and follow the arrows. Out of season, when the gates are open, you can cross the private property and go straight to the lighthouse.
At the crossroads, turn right back onto the GR®34. Walk down to the SNSM slipway. The all-weather rescue boat is parked in the building on the left.
Numerous paths open up to walkers on the Ploumanac'h moor. Turn right at the first crossroads, continue slightly left at the next and turn right at the end of the path to reach the small Plage de Porz Rolland.
(8) After the beach, continue along the path to the left, skirting the coast to reach the car park at the start(S/E).
