Description of the walk

Park in the large paying car park at the entrance to the site (S).

Take the big tarmacked path which quickly joins the GR6 (1).
Continue on the GR in a south-east direction up to the crossroads of paths where you will see an orange sign marked ACR1 (2).

Follow these waymarkers to do the circular walk shown on the attached map.
During the hike, it is possible to follow the signs for the ACR2 (blue) or the ACR3 (black). These signs indicate paths which enable you to explore the site via other waypoints.
All three trails meet up at the car park.

Now everyone can discover the White Desert, the Sahara, the Waterfall and many other things.
There is also a fee of € 6 which includes parking, the opportunity to discover the site and, in particular, the washing of the red ochre with a guide.

In the nearby area

The Oppedette gorges.
The hilltop villages of Simiane-la-Rotonde and Banon.
Apt and Forcalquier.

The east-side is very easy to walk, almost completely flat, but not much sightseeing points. The east-side is only for people who are able to walk over rocks and don't fear hights. It is also recommended to wear good shoes because the terrain is rough. Still no experience in mountainwalking is requested. Be prepared that in the village there is no possibility to eat or drink. So bring your own.
