The Bees of Cuers

This is a walk I'm really enjoying at the moment with flowers along the route and a view of the Barres de Cuers.
There's little difficulty, the false-flat is long, after the hives on the descent, so be aware.
The hives are magnificent.

Description of the walk

Park in the Cuers cemetery car park.
(S/E) With your back to the car park, turn left and go under the aqueduct. At the fork, turn right and then skip two paths leading off to the right.
At the next fork, go right on the small path that runs along the old stream and join the path.

(1) Ignore the Chemin des Régagnades on the left and take the Chemin des Tournels on the right.
Continue straight ahead through forest.
It follows an old stream which is on your left.
At the cairn, turn left (white route markers on trees) and climb. At the following cairn, turn left again (White markers) and climb again.

(2) When you get to a large path, turn right.
Follow the blue markers and first of all climb the false-flat before it start to weave.

(3) Stay on the large path to arrive at the crossing with the Pérussier.

(4) Turn right in a northwesterly direction, enjoy the view opposite of the Barres de Cuers. Reach the intersection with the tank.

(5) Take the small path on your right which is located in front of the tank (descent). Be careful, you need to pass around the tank on the longest side. Descend through the Vallon du Réal.

(6) At the fork, take the climbing located to your right (cairn). At the sheep enclosure, take a right-hand bend (a small descending path), leave the wood to reach a crossing toward the sheep pen.

(7) Turn left and take the small path straight ahead to find the ruins on your right.
At the cairn with greenish-yellow markers, turn right, go down a little to see the old stone hives (8).
Continue the descent which joins the large path you took on the outward leg.
Go left and then continue straight downhill, leave the wooden pole with a yellow pipe behind you and find the junction of the Chemin des Régagnades and the Chemin des Tournels paths.

(2) Turn right on the Chemin des Régagnades, and return to the intersection.

(1) Return on the path you took on the outward leg back the cemetery car park (S/E).

A fine route as soon as you leave the road, fairly easy between track and path.
For those with dogs, there will be many encounters in the inhabited part.
A great time with some very pretty views.
Thank you

This hike at the foot of the Cuers bars is particularly interesting for its rural setting and, above all, the beehives, the highlight of the walk. So pay close attention to point 7 if you don't want to miss out. The ruins emerging from the vegetation are a good reference point. There are no difficulties, and we had our lunchtime break facing the bars, which was quite nice.

We took this route in the opposite direction, as mentioned in other reviews. Very good for seeing the stone beehives. Very nice walk.

Hi, nice trail, not too hard, but very poorly signposted, especially on the way back, discovering the location of the Cuers bees is a miracle on the way back. I recommend doing the trail in the opposite direction if you don't miss the cairn on the right of the main path (marker 3). In the normal direction, take care at number 5 to take the small path that goes down along the green cistern. Enjoy the walk.

Oui le chemin maintenant est parish specific to Brittany
I hike backwards now
But I recognise that it's been a long time since they cleaned the paths for the fire brigade but they didn't pretend, so it's no longer pleasant for me.
Sa fait trop autoroute

Go and see my other hikes to belgentier and la farlede

The descent along the beehives is difficult, especially at the end of the route.

Nice hike, worth the effort to discover the apiaries, but very stony around them. Some of the paths on the way back are very steep. The GPS makes it easier to find your way.

I agree with Paramant, it's a varied and very pleasant route. I did it yesterday with, like other hikers, a little difficulty at the start. I missed the "2nd left with white markings", turned around and found it.
The Vallon du Réal and the path leading up to it (6) are full of flowers, a real delight (daisies, blue flax, red cephalanthera in the woods...).
At point 7, once you've reached the crossroads, take the perpendicular path to the left, but this path is not as small as it seems and I'd like to make 2 points: this path is on a sort of small plateau with very low vegetation, lots of piles of large stones everywhere and you have to walk for a while before you find a real ruin on the right. I found the right cairn just after it and the very stony path that leads down along the superb restanques on the right and then the remarkable stone beehives. It would be a shame to miss this extraordinary site!
THANK YOU diamazur for this superb half-day hike. "The icing on the cake was that I got to see 1 pair of pheasants at close quarters.
