In Fontfreyde, park in a small car park on the edge of Rue du Relais, near a large gravel square and a playground.
(S/E) Continue along Rue du Relais, turning left towards the south-west. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead (dead end sign), ignoring a street on the right and Impasse des Carrières on the left. Shortly afterwards, in the bend, take a path on the right that is not very visible from the street, which runs alongside a property (with earthenware figurines on the gate and a small rounded garage) and gardens on the right-hand side. You will come to a small road; follow it to the right. Further on, ignore a path that enters the forest on the right (not shown on the map).
(1) At the start of a long left-hand bend in the road, take a path on the right (ignoring a green cross marker) that runs alongside a large meadow on the left. At the end of this meadow, ignore a barely marked path on the right and look for the entrance to a meadow in a left-hand bend.
(2) Immediately afterwards, leave the path that continues straight ahead (and is not marked on the map) and turn onto the path on the right. When you reach an intersection, continue on the path opposite, slightly to the right.
(3) Climb over a stile to enter a mountain pasture area. In this moorland, the path is no longer very visible. Keep heading north-west for about 200 metres, then turn west to find drinking troughs on a small downhill slope. Continue straight ahead for about 100 metres towards a row of trees that extends into the meadow on the right. Just behind it, you will find a better-marked path. Follow it to the right. Climb a second ladder to leave the mountain pasture area and you will come to a road.
(4) Follow it to the left. About 300 metres further on, you will see a sign for "Parcours sportif" on the right-hand side of the road. Take the path on the right. At a fork, continue to the right and then, at the next two intersections, turn left (the paths on the right are not shown on the map). You will come to a wider path.
(5) Take it on the left. At the crossroads 200 metres further on, turn right onto a path that leads to the communal meadows.
(6) Further on, ignore a path on the right (not shown on the map). You will come to a crossroads with a path opposite, a meadow entrance on the left and a wide, forked path on the right. Turn right and then take the first path on the right.
(7) At the next crossroads, turn left. Join another path on the outskirts of Beaune-le-Chaud.
(8) Turn left. Ignore the private paths on the right, pass between the fountain and a rectangular pond, then turn right into the car park along the road. At the bus stop, cross the road and continue straight ahead, passing in front of a fountain, onto Rue du Four. At the end of this street, turn left and then right after the wash house onto Rue de la Côte. The street curves to the right, then runs alongside another fountain at the foot of the church. At a fork, keep left.
(9) Further on, leave the street that goes up to the church on your left and continue straight on Chemin de la Croix de Beaune (small yellow signs, direction "Autour de Chadrat"). Continue up this path until you reach a timber yard and a path on the left leading to an antenna. On your right, a few metres from the path and slightly higher up, you will see the Croix de Beaune, a Christianised menhir.
(10) A few metres further on, leave this path and take a trail that descends to the right. Join a road at the yellow directional signs and follow the road to the right to reach Pardon. Pass a fountain-wash house and reach a small roundabout. Follow the road to the left (yellow disc markings) and, a hundred metres further on, cross at a large cross located a few metres to the right of the road.
(11) Walk a few metres along the road to the left to pass the cross, then turn right onto the street behind it. At the fork just after, keep to the right. Ignore the private paths that branch off to the left. The tarmac disappears at a fork in the road. Follow the path on the left. Continue straight ahead on this path until you reach the D778 at the first houses in Fontfreyde. A large cross marks this crossroads.
(12) Cross the D778 and continue opposite, on Rue Petits Beaune, which slopes diagonally to the left, to the left of a farmhouse used for filling water tanks. Shortly afterwards, pass an oratory on the right-hand side of the street and ignore a street on the left. At the fork, near the wash house and an old blacksmith's shop, turn left, walk past the church and continue to the intersection with Rue du Relais, marked by a cross. Turn right, pass a fountain on your right and follow Rue du Relais, which turns left, to reach the car park about 50 metres further on (S/E).
