Description of the route

Departure from Veyrinas, parking available in the village.

(S/E) Follow Route de Veyrinas until you reach the bend, at the bus shelter. Opposite the bus shelter, take the road that goes up to the right.

(1) At house no. 3, leave the tarmac and take Chemin des Conces, which starts under the trees. At the end of this road, continue along a small road until you reach a fork.

(2) Follow the road to the left, walk alongside a copse on your right and then, after about 100 metres, turn right onto Chemin du Ruisseau de Gravataud. Continue along this road until you reach the end of a tarmac road.

(3) Turn left uphill, cross the hamlet of Leygat and reach a fork.

(4) Take the path downhill on the right. Continue straight ahead until you reach a cross street in Solignac.

(5) Turn right, then quickly left onto Chemin des Fossés. You will reach the Solignac mill and the medieval bridge, which you will cross to reach the path along the Briance river just after on the left.

(6) Follow the river, always taking the left-hand path, until you reach Le Vigen.

(7) At the road, take care with the traffic, first turn right then left and continue along Chemin de la Grange, crossing the hamlet to reach a farm with a five-way fork.

(8) Take the path opposite the farm on the left and follow it along the Briance to the end, reaching a bridge that leads to the Château de Chalucet.

(9) Follow the path that goes up to the right and continue straight on until you reach the D57, in the village of Les Farges.

(10) Turn right and follow the main road. Ignore the Route de Ménautour on the right and arrive at the D704.

(11) Follow the road to the right, then take thefirst path on the left (dead end). This path goes up into the forest and, at the fork, turn right to reach the houses at Chez Mérigaud. Continue along the path until you reach a crossroads.

(12) Continue left, cross the residential area and at the next crossroads, go straight on towards Saint-Maurice les Brousses (C5). Enter a wood and you will reach a house on your left before the end of the wood.

(13) Opposite the house, take the path on the right (yellow markings) and follow it downhill.

(14) In Villebon, cross the village straight ahead on the road that descends and follow the signs for Solignac (C3). Go around a right-hand bend and take thefirst path on the left (in the undergrowth).

(15) Follow this path to Pont Rompu.

(16) Ignore the bridge on the right and continue on the left. Go uphill and, at the three-way junction, turn right towards Envaud (C6).

(17) Just after a car park on your left, at the three-way junction, turn right onto Chemin du Puy de Banneix, reach the bottom of the valley, cross the stream and climb up to Puy de Banneix.

(18) Facing the wall, continue to the right, then walk alongside the manor house and reach Rue Matisse.

(19) Turn right towards Banneix (C5) and left at the bus stop. Take thefirst road on the left.

(20) Follow this road, then turn left onto the Sentier de Saint-Roch path and arrive at a place called La Frugerie.

(21) At the road, turn right and then right again just before a farm. Walk along a building with a half-round roof on your left and, at number 48, turn left. Continue to the edge of the Briance.

(22) Turn left, join the road and cross the Pont de la Cristallerie bridge, then follow the Route de la Cristallerie on the right towards Solignac (D32). Take thefirst road on the left.

(23) Follow this road (C4) and climb up to Brégéras.

(24) In the centre of the village, turn left and follow the road. Ignore the Route des Étangs on the right and reach the edge of the forest.

(25) Take the path on the right that runs alongside it and continue straight on until you reach a road.
