(S/E) From the Boenlesgrab car park, take the level forest track on the left (heading south-west) marked by the tower to reach the Ruhfelsen or Ruhenfels.
(1) Continue to the right along the forest track signposted ‘Château’ until you reach the junction with the path signposted ‘Red Triangle’. Ignore a path on the left and carry on straight ahead to the pass. You’ll come to a Fork in the road.
(2) Follow this path uphill to Kleinbelchen. Take the first path on the right, which turns into a track leading to the Mullermatt. Keep going in this direction until it is no longer possible. Turn right to rejoin the GR®.
(3) Continue to the left (north) to reach the summit of the Petit Ballon. Keep to the right to reach it.
(4) Enjoy the view and return via the path to the left of the path you took on the way up. Carry on until the bend. Take the path starting on the left just after the bend. In the woods, turn right onto a track. First turn right then left. Carry on to the next track at Kahlenwasen.
(5) Turn right onto the track. At the bend, carry on straight ahead to reach the Strohberg farmhouse inn.
(6) Continue straight ahead downhill on the forest track marked with a Red Disc. Keep to the right at all times to return to Boenlesgrab. (S/E)
