Sarecky Potok

Within easy reach of the tram and less than 6 km from Charles Bridge, this route takes you through forests and meadows, where you will discover the steep-sided valleys of the little Sarecky Potok river. Plan a whole day for this hike, far from the hustle and bustle of the tourist centres. You will appreciate the scenery and the coolness of the woodland.

Description of the walk

Within tram reach, less than 6 km from Charles Bridge, this route takes you through forests and meadows, where you will discover the steep-sided valleys of the little Sarecky Potok river.

Take tram 8 or 18 towards Nadrazi Podbaba, get off at the Nadrazi Podbaba terminus. Starting point - D

  1. At Pension Patanka, take the small path that climbs to the right
  2. Continue straight ahead on the path reserved for pedestrians and cyclists.
  3. Continue on the GR® on the left, where you can admire the view of Prague and the ruins of Zricenina Baba Castle.
  4. Cross the road to continue on the GR®.
  5. Turn left
  6. Continue straight ahead on the path
  7. Follow the GR® trail on the left towards the church of PRAHA-NEBUSICE.
  8. Then cross the village. Take the following turns: left at the K Noskovne church, right onto Druheho Odboje street, left onto U Pohadky street, right onto Pod Hajovnou street.
  9. Take the path on the left to enter the forest. There are many paths on either side, so pay attention to follow the route (there are many possible variations)
  10. Benches and a table await you for a picnic in the shade.
  11. Leave the tarmac road and take the path on the left that leads into the meadows
  12. At the "Divoka Sarka swimming pool" site, 50 metres after crossing the river, take the path on the right
  13. Between the towering rocks, walk along the small, steep-sided valley of the Sarecky Potok river.
  14. Take the path on the left that climbs up to the heights
  15. Panorama "Szban", then follow the path on the left
  16. Panorama "Divci Skok" below you can see "Swimming Pool" then retrace your steps before taking the path on the left
  17. Take the path on the left
  18. After crossing the Sarecky Potok river again, take the path on the right to follow the river.
  19. Turn right to reach Vokovice.
  20. Go down Vokovicka Street to reach the tram and metro stations. Arrival point - A
