Oude Molen car park 3 km north of Nieuwkerke, on the N331 towards Ypres.
(S/E) Take the cycle path towards Nieuwkerke. Just before you reach a fork, cross over and take the dirt track on the left. Join a small road and follow it to the left for about 200 m.
(1) Take the path on the left. Cross the N331 carefully and continue straight ahead on the path until you reach a small road. Follow it for about 100 metres on the right.
(2) Turn right to enter the woods (entrance to the Domaine de Kemmel: sign and marker 89). Stay on the path, heading roughly north-west, until you reach a restaurant on the hill.
(3) Turn right towards a staircase. Continue until you reach a small road, follow it for a moment on the left and then turn right.
(4) A few metres further on, at the foot of the paved road, take the path on the right (nicely paved). Pass in front of the totem pole. At the fork (barbecue), turn left and, just after the dwarf, join the road on the left. Cross it and continue on the path opposite. At the end, a staircase leads to a path below (marker 81).
Follow it to the left (sometimes a little difficult, but there are a few variations on the sides). At the end, a staircase leads to the Mont Kemmel viewpoint (marker 82).
(5) Do not go as far as the road, but take the path on the right. Continue straight ahead until you reach the ossuary (marker 74).
(6) Cross the road and continue along the path opposite, which descends gently to a T-junction. Follow the small road on the left for about 500 metres until you reach marker 63.
(7) Take the path on the right that enters the woods. After 250 m, take a sharp left turn. Stay on the path through the woods until you reach a small road. Follow it to the right until you reach a crossroads (marker 65). Continue straight ahead on the small road and follow it for about 500 m.
(8) Take theGR® on the left: it is a pretty zigzag path (perhaps laid out after tasting the local wines?). Ignore a path on the left and continue along the edge of the woods. The path then turns left to cross a copse and then crosses a wetland area (footbridge and gates). Then turn left at the edge of the woods and you will come to a metal gate.
(9) Turn left across the field uphill (nice view of the beautiful farm on the right), and eventually reach a new wooden gate. Exit and turn right. About twenty metres further on, you will reach a fork. Do not take the path on the left or the path on the right, but continue straight ahead across the pasture (clearly visible track). You will eventually reach a wider path, which you follow to the right until you reach a T-junction (marker 72).
(10) Turn right onto the small road going downhill. At the next crossroads, continue along the path opposite through the fields and you will eventually reach the first gate.
(9) Turn left and continue to a T-junction. Follow the small road on the right and after 300 m, leave it and take the tarmac path on the left.
(11) At the T-junction, turn right. At the fork (marker 24), veer left, pass in front of a beautiful property (pretty pond) and reach a T-junction (marker 26). Turn left, then a little further on (marker 91) turn right towards the N331. Join the cycle path (marker 27) and follow it on the left to the car park (S/E).
