Refuge Frachey - Orestes Hut

From the Franchey refuge (S), head east on the wide track until it becomes a path.

(1) Keep on the right path, go along the chairlift and then pass under the line. Keep heading east and, after a final climb, you'll reach the Col de Bettaforca.

(2) Take the ski slope for the long descent. Reach the middle station of the Gressoney ski lifts.

(3) Take the forest track on the left that leads to the village of Gressoney, reaching it from the north.

(4) Cross the Lys torrent and start a new climb opposite, on a forest track leading to the large farm. Stay on this track until the crossroads towards the village of Moos.

(5) First turn left then right to take the path heading east, which joins the track at the Moos torrent.

(6) Cross the stream and tackle a steep climb that leads to the large Gabiet station.

(7) At the next crossroads, turn left onto the wide track until you reach the Moos torrent again.

(8) Continue along the path and you will find another track at the small reservoir. Continue along this track, cross the stream and climb up to the Refuge d'Orestes Hutte (E).
